Production Supervisor

The role manages daily production floor operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution. It coordinates manpower and resources, drives performance to meet shift targets, supports continuous improvement, maintains accurate records, enforces HSE standards, and escalates issues to the Production Manager while fostering teamwork and discipline.
What will you be doing?
- The role is responsible for supervising and monitoring daily production activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products in line with manufacturing processes. It involves coordinating manpower and resources, monitoring attendance and discipline, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring smooth flow of raw materials and components. The supervisor also supports continuous improvement initiatives, implements 5S practices, ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment, and provides training to maintain a qualified and effective workforce.
- In addition, the role requires clear communication of operational updates, enforcement of company policies, and escalation of major issues to the Production Manager when necessary. The position emphasizes compliance with HSE, Sustainability, and Energy policies, preventing workplace injuries, environmental impact, and energy wastage, while reporting incidents and supporting improvements to maintain a safe and organized production environment.
What will you need to be successful?
- The position is based in Penang, Malaysia, and requires a candidate with a Master’s, Degree, or Diploma in Mechanical or Material Engineering (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory and coaching skills, along with expertise in Lean Manufacturing. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in a machining environment, hands-on experience with CNC machines and secondary processes (including deburring, polishing, sand blasting, CNC grinding, and CMM), and prior exposure to the medical device industry and regulated environments. Strong organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in MS Office, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and accurate report preparation are essential.
- The role involves basic physical demands such as walking around the production floor, standing for periods, and occasionally lifting light items while using required safety equipment. Travel is minimal, primarily for training or occasional meetings, with most work carried out onsite at the production facility. The position requires a proactive leader capable of managing teams effectively while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
