Position Overview
As a 1st shift Production Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Indianapolis operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve directing, guiding, and leading daily production activities for the manufacture of Medical Devices. Here’s what you can expect:
Leadership and Oversight: You’ll oversee medical device assembly processes, ensuring seamless production flow, employee job assignments and assisting in the production plan for 2nd and 3rd shift support. While we don’t expect you to be an expert on every aspect of the operation, your active interest in understanding the processes will be invaluable.
Technical Troubleshooting: As part of your role, you’ll engage in technical troubleshooting of the assembly lines. This includes diagnosing and resolving any production-related issues promptly. Your problem-solving skills will contribute to maintaining optimal efficiency.
Team Building and Relationships: Building strong relationships with your team is crucial. As a leader, your engagement with employees fosters a positive work environment. Regular shift change meetings will be part of your routine, ensuring alignment and adherence to safety and quality standards set forth by our quality management system.

Basic Background Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical), Business Administration, OLS or equivalent experience.
3+ years’ experience in actively leading a production and/or quality group.
Mechanical/Electrical aptitude a must have.
Proficiency in MS Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook). Additionally, experience or knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is a must have
Knowledge of quality assurance standards relating to medical devices, FDA experience would be helpful.
Work with metrics as a result of our high speed production demands and planning.
Communicate with all levels of management, operations, and customers.

Key Performance Objectives
Short Term: (0 to 3 months)
Learn about Kimball Vision and Guiding Principles.
Learn the Quality Management System & Manufacturing processes.
Develop solid relationships with team members & provide daily direction.
Understand procedures, training and conduct production reporting processes.
Midterm: (3 to 6 months)
Lead daily stand-up meeting with quality, production & engineering
Strategizing ways to operate multiple lines across multiple shifts to meet production requirements
Align area metrics with overall department goals and streamline resources to deliver on these metrics.
Weekly assembly production planning for all shifts
Manage daily production activities as it relates to assembly, this includes overseeing the production schedule, team assignments, communication to 2nd & 3rd shift supervisors, daily production reporting using the ERP system.
Long Term: 6-12 months +
Implementation of production efficiency improvements
Train staff on the utilization of ERP production reporting and inventory management within work centers
Implement visual & Digital production environment
