Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

SUMMARY

The Second Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all machining, assembly, and testing activities during the second shift to ensure safe, efficient, and quality‑focused production. This individual will oversee a cross-functional team – providing coaching and development while ensuring daily production goals are met. The Second Shift Supervisor will provide daily direction, maintain workflow, and ensure that products meet all performance and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee execution of machining, assembly, and testing to support sales plan and targeted on-time delivery (OTD). Coordinate production schedule and resources to ensure daily KPIs are met.   
  • Promote, monitor, and ensure a safe work environment. Perform safety audits and support incident investigations; identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure manufacturing adherence to all work instructions, quality standards and regulations; troubleshoot failures and escalate non-conformities to quality and engineering teams as needed. Support root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Execute daily management; address production issues, equipment concerns, or quality deviations that occur during the shift while ensuring team is following daily process.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production reporting and shift documentation. Provide concise and accurate shift reports to first shift leadership.
  • Coach team members on problem-solving skills and basic lean tools. Create development plan for employees.
  • Drive process efficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee routine 5S activities to maintain clean and orderly staging of materials throughout work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Direct supervision of a team of production floor employees

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field with at least one (1) year demonstrated success in supervision or manufacturing technical support OR
  • Three to five years of experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or process improvement

  • Leadership and written & verbal communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Prior experience leading teams or supervising in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, machining and performance test processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong coaching and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work overtime (days, weekends) as necessary

  • Shop floor working environment.
  • Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
  • Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor.

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm - 3:00am

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $67,400.00 - $101,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
