Role Overview:

  • Own production work order release, queue management, and execution flow within radar and RF manufacturing environments.
  • Serve as the coordination hub between Manufacturing Engineering (MEs), Lab Supervisors, Production Leads, and Inventory/Material Control.
  • Maintain and analyze Line of Balance (LOB) to ensure production rate adherence and milestone execution.
  • Ensure work orders are complete, kitted, technically valid, and configuration-controlled prior to release.
  • Provide schedule visibility, risk identification, and performance reporting to Operations and Program leadership.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work Order Review & Release
    • Review and release production work orders aligned to master production schedule and program milestones.
    • Verify work order completeness, including:
      • Correct revision levels
      • Approved MBOM structure
      • Routing accuracy
      • Required documentation and traveler inclusion
    • Ensure ECO/ECN changes are properly incorporated before release.
    • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve discrepancies or missing requirements.
    • Prevent release of incomplete or non-kitted work orders.

  • Production Queue & Flow Management
    • Interface daily with:
      • Manufacturing Engineers
      • Lab Supervisors
      • Production Leads
      • Inventory/Material Control
    • Prioritize and sequence work orders based on:
      • Material readiness
      • Capacity constraints
      • Test station availability
      • Program deadlines
      • Monitor WIP levels and aging.
    • Identify and escalate bottlenecks impacting throughput or milestone delivery.
    • Support controlled re-prioritization when program or leadership direction shifts.
  • Line of Balance (LOB) Management
    • Develop and maintain Line of Balance tracking across radar subsystem and system-level builds.
    • Monitor build progression against planned rate and milestone commitments.
    • Identify variance between planned vs actual production performance.
    • Provide early warning indicators of schedule slip or capacity shortfall.
    • Support rate ramp analysis and LRIP → FRP transition tracking.
  • Work Order Schedule Reporting & Analysis
    • Generate and maintain production schedule performance reports, including:
      • Work order release vs plan
      • Completion status vs required date
      • Cycle time performance
      • WIP aging
      • Schedule adherence
    • Analyze trends in:
      • Late starts
      • Late completions
      • Rework-driven delays
      • Material-driven delays
      • Support executive and program-level reporting requirements.
      • Ensure ERP/MES schedule data integrity.
  • Kitting & Material Coordination
    • Coordinate with Inventory and Material Control to confirm full kit availability prior to work order release.
    • Validate shortages, substitutions, and serialized component allocation.
    • Ensure traceability-controlled hardware is properly staged.
    • Escalate material risks affecting Line of Balance.
  • As-Built & Configuration Verification
    • Verify accuracy of as-built documentation and traveler completion.
    • Ensure serial number tracking, substitutions, and deviations are documented.
    • Confirm required inspections and quality checkpoints are complete.
    • Support configuration audits and program reviews.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Lead or support daily production scheduling reviews.
    • Communicate schedule status, risk, and mitigation plans to Operations leadership.
    • Coordinate rework prioritization without destabilizing production flow.
    • Support milestone builds and surge production events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7+ years of experience in production scheduling, production control, or manufacturing planning.
  • Experience managing work orders within ERP and/or MES systems.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Bills of Material (BOM/MBOM)
    • Routing structures
    • Revision control
    • Work order lifecycle
  • Experience building and maintaining Line of Balance (LOB) tracking.
  • Strong analytical capability for schedule performance reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate across engineering, production, and inventory teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship (if required for program access).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, or RF/radar production environments.
  • Experience supporting LRIP or rate ramp production.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Serialized hardware tracking
    • Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN)
    • Configuration-controlled products
    • Experience generating executive-level production performance reporting.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Capacity planning concepts
    • Lean manufacturing principles
    • Production forecasting tools
  • Experience with PLM systems integrated with ERP/MES.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
