Job Summary:

The Production Planner Role is responsible to create and manage manufacturing schedules of infrared lens system production, ensuring materials and Work Orders meet production goals efficiently. Working closely with the Production Team and Material Management Team, the Production Planner tracks, creates, and oversees priorities of the kitting of Production Work Orders. This role combines strong organization and communication skills in a fast-paced Production environment.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintain a log in Excel to monitor and track progress of active and upcoming Production Work Orders.

  • Generate Work Order documents in SAP based on Production priorities and provide to Materials Management team.

  • Remove completed Work Orders from the Production Floor and scan to document folders.

  • Track and keep log in Excel of lens serial numbers for each Work Order.

  • Transact finished lenses using SAP and email Procurement team to ship to customers.

  • Monitor custom cases needed for weekly Production shipments and proactively request from Materials Management team as needed.

  • Monitor and keep up to date production document revisions listed on Work Orders.

  • Drive getting NCM replacements and material shortages to the Production team.

  • Send order requests for miscellaneous parts and tools to Procurement team.

  • Responsible for filling checklists of completed lenses after shipment.

  • Print lens identification labels and provide with Work Orders.

  • Participate in daily and weekly Production team meetings and both get and provide updates on priority material shortages.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean manufacturing principles, to streamline processes and enhance overall productivity.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in material handling, production planning, or procurement.

  • Able to create and maintain detailed spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Familiar with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively in a team.

  • Excellent attention to detail, quality-focused work ethic, and commitment to accurate documentation.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Familiarity with ITAR requirements and ability to work in a controlled, export-compliant environment.

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, often for most of the workday.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, often up to 20 pounds, though the frequency of lifting heavier objects varies.

Salary Range:

$44,500.00-$59,300.000
