Key Accountabilities
- Production Scheduling & Capacity Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Monitor capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks; propose solutions to optimize production flow.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure schedule adherence and address deviations in real-time.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels to meet target service levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and avoid production delays.
- Implement inventory control strategies to reduce obsolescence and improve turnover.
- Demand & Supply Alignment:
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align production plans with sales forecasts.
- Analyze demand variability and adjust schedules to accommodate urgent orders or changes in priority.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Generate daily/weekly production performance reports, including schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and inventory metrics.
- Use data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and sales teams to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
- Communication schedule changes proactively to all stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes, reduce lead times, and enhance supply chain resilience.
- Support the implementation of digital tools (e.g., APS - Advanced Planning Systems) for automated scheduling.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, formulas).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational changes.
Preferred:
- Certification in APICS CPIM or CSCP.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (APS) or demand planning tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Just-in-Time, Kanban).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO standards, GMP).
