Job Description:
Huntsman is seeking a Production Operator supporting the Chemical Manufacturing Division located in Los Angeles, CA. This position will report to the Assistant Operations Manager.
This role involves operating plant equipment and chemical processes safely and efficiently to achieve production output. The Production Operator is responsible for gaining knowledge and in-depth understanding of the production process and its supporting operations, applying that knowledge to achieve efficient production. The role includes all unit functions, including housekeeping necessary to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Safely handle chemicals and chemical processing equipment (vessels, mixers, reactors, dischargers, etc.) for the manufacture of epoxy and polyurethane type formulations for aerospace, electronics, tooling, etc.
Operate processes incorporating heating, cooling, vacuum, pressure, nitrogen purging, and exothermic reactions
Follow instructions precisely as written (in English) and verbally, adhering to all safety precautions and PPE requirements
Perform shift work as required
Maintain good housekeeping and motivation for high-quality output
Apply working knowledge of basic mathematics and science/engineering
Operate a forklift and handle drums physically
Fill containers and clean equipment and tools
Work independently and as part of a team, completing tasks assigned by Supervisor/Lead Operator
Be accurate and precise in all tasks
Assist employees in accomplishing Huntsman company goals
Participate in and complete company-required training programs
Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications
Education required: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience required: 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably a chemical formulation plant
Must be approved/cleared by State and Federal authorities to work with controlled chemicals used at the site
Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Willing and able to work any of the three shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) based on business needs:
1st Shift Hours – 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2nd Shift Hours – 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
3rd Shift Hours – 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with various departments and contractors
Ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize tasks
Proven understanding of day-to-day business activities, reporting, and operations
Computer literacy
Ability to work well in a team setting
Clear communication with line supervisors and management

Compensation: Starting rate is $35.00/hr plus $2.00/hr shift differential for hours worked from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. The compensation range reflects the Company’s reasonable expectation at the time of posting. Step progression available based on qualification – minimum of 12 months prior to associate qualifying.
