Position Title: Production Operator I

Position Overview

The Production Operator I performs entry-level production activities under supervision. This role is responsible for preparing raw materials, operating mixers, packaging finished products, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operating procedures. The position supports production processes while maintaining product quality, traceability, and a safe working environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare raw materials and packaging by reviewing labels to ensure correct weight, type, and lot/batch numbers before charging materials into mixers.

  • Operate mixers by loading raw materials according to process instructions, taking samples, unloading, and packaging finished products.

  • Follow production parameters, process instructions, and procedures throughout operations.

  • Document process figures and results to ensure traceability and meet legal requirements.

  • Ensure initial testing and release of products are completed with no deviations from specifications.

  • Ensure finished products meet visual appearance and quality standards.

  • Package final products according to instructions and company quality standards.

  • Identify and report any labeling mistakes to the Production Manager/Supervisor and take corrective actions.

  • Maintain machinery and work areas in clean and proper condition.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic educational degree, High School Diploma, or General Education Diploma.

  • 2+ years of experience as a Production Operator I or 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment.

  • Knowledge of common software programs (MS Office).

  • Ability to read and understand work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures.

  • Availability to work in shifts.

  • Responsible for maintaining own training documentation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of chemical mixing processes.

  • Knowledge of packaging processes.

  • Understanding of basic English.

  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Physical Environment:

  • Required to stand for long periods of time.

  • Walk and climb stairs.

  • Use hands to remove or lift boxes.

  • Stretch and reach with arms extended.

  • Stoop and bend.

  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Exposure to temperature variations, dust, smells, and noise typical of a chemical environment.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
