Production Manager

High Point, NC (EAS HQ) Full time

Environmental Air Systems – The United States’ Premier Mechanical Contractor and manufacturer of custom off-site HVAC construction – is seeking a Production Manager to join our manufacturing team in High Point, North Carolina. In this role you will supervise a team of 20 to 30 employees at our manufacturing plant.

The Production Manager provides technical and supervisory leadership to assigned manufacturing teams at the High Point manufacturing facility. The Production Manager leads a project team, multiple project teams, or a segment of a large project with responsibilities for plans, schedules, execution, and cost effectiveness of the manufacturing segment for a large HVAC business. The Production Manager deals with multiple requirements and conflicting priorities. In addition, they plan and conduct the shop work load using judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while remaining focused on internal and external customer requirements.

ScheduleMonday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm, Friday 7:30am-11:30am

Location: 250 Swathmore Ave, High Point, NC 27263

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of fabrication teams at the Reedy Fork fabrication facility

  • Provide leadership support and direction for hourly employees

  • Consistently focus on costs, quality, schedules, and safety

  • Coordinate all project work with other team supervisors within the facility to provide a positive environment

  • Lead the plant safety and chemical management team

  • Support the plant mentoring team, providing leadership and training requirements when requested

  • Perform take-offs of drawings from drafting dept. and enter into Vulcan Cutting System with an eye towards resolving any conflicts with: elevations, equipment submittals, and construction standards

  • Generate paperwork and distribute to required depts. to assure all materials are present to maintain an even flow of work through the plant

  • Handle miscellaneous material requests from field superintendents (hand sketches)

  • Work with Plant Manager to develop and maintain working production schedule that assures a steady flow of product to all project sites

  • Identify any bottlenecks or delays in production; ensure necessary labor, materials, and other resources are available to relieve production bottlenecks and delays

  • Use production planning and scheduling to limit materials shortages

  • Manage supervisory production staff

  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

  • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a two year associate degree in a metal fabrication related field; a four year business management degree in organizational management or a related field is desired

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or field leadership role is required

  • Must be CPR and AED certified

  • Six Sigma certified or experience in Demand Flow manufacturing a major plus

  • Experience in manufacturing management will be considered in lieu of a degree as determined by senior management

  • Skilled in plant safety and HAZMAT requirements

  • Ability to be flexible with daily, weekly, and seasonable demands with multiple priorities
