What this role is all about:

We are looking for a Production Lead on 2nd Shift in Tomah, WI.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM

The Production Lead plays a crucial role in the production process by supporting the supervisor and performing various operator tasks. This includes shift coverage during employee breaks, vacations, and assistance in training other operators. The position requires coordination with the supervisor and ensuring smooth operation of the production line.

Job Duties:

  • Assist on training new employees and cross-training tasks, as needed.
  • Read ingredients and count how many bags are on a pallet.
  • Place scoops in cans/jars/buckets and place lids on cans/jars/buckets.
  • Stack bags/cans of product as it comes off the various production lines.
  • Seal bags/cans of product as it comes off the various production lines.
  • Bag product as it comes off the various production lines. 
  • Dump bags of product into appropriate equipment on the various production lines.   
  • Sample product on various production lines as required.
  • Be designated Line Leader during Line Leader absences.
  • Operate forklift, if forklift-operating requirements met.    
  • Complete necessary paperwork to ensure all documentation requirements met on various production lines and complete CCP and all inspection documentation.   
  • Operate boxing machine.    
  • Palletize product as it comes off the various production lines.    
  • Perform all CIP's, Master Sanitation items, and titrations to insure a high standard of sanitation.
  • Immediately report any equipment/production issues to Production Supervisor and communicate any variances in make plans.
  • Proactively promote and foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Lead by example to inspire a culture of mutual respect, continuous improvement, and open communication.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in food plant manufacturing preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
