Job Description
At Rolls-Royce, we pioneer the power that matters. We’re proud to be a business that has helped shape the modern world — and we’re committed to driving progress through innovation, excellence, and integrity.
As a Production Controller at our Filton site, you will play a pivotal role within an operational team, ensuring production and delivery plans are executed efficiently and in line with customer expectations. You’ll act as the first point of contact for delivery performance across internal and external supply chains, proactively identifying, prioritising, and resolving delivery issues. You will also support the incorporation of new products by ensuring the plant is prepared and aligned with agreed delivery schedules.
What you will be doing:
Production Control: Work collaboratively with the team to ensure adherence to production plans at machine level, using scheduling techniques to manage workflow and meet customer demand.
Planning & Scheduling: Maintain all planning systems daily, including inbound SUBCON/supplier delivery commitments, ensuring alignment with Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS) requirements.
Performance Management: Monitor production performance against the agreed business plan. Where deviations occur, identify root causes, implement mitigation actions, and escalate appropriately.
Reporting & Metrics: Utilise standard tools, processes, and metrics such as SMWIP, Production Order Adherence, and Throughput Monitoring to track performance.
SUBCON Management: Conduct regular reviews and communication on delivery plans, measure SLA adherence, and escalate issues where required.
Material Availability: Collaborate with Order Controllers to identify shortages or excesses early, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation.
Short-Term Planning: Continuously realign the four-week delivery plan in line with customer requirements, liaising with planners as appropriate.
ERP Compliance: Support compliance review processes, ensuring front-end actions are executed in accordance with RRPS standards.
Non-Conformance & Returns: Support the return of non-conforming parts to suppliers or internal plants, and liaise with factory logistics to ensure timely receipt and despatch of materials.
Issue Resolution: Drive the resolution of inbound delivery issues, including Stock in Transit, GRIP, and NCR stock, across CFBU and other plants.
Position Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or supply chain management within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritise actions in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in escalating and influencing effectively.
Experience using ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP) to manage production and material flow.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in aerospace or engineering manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS) processes and tools.
Evidence of working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to drive performance improvements.
