Major Duties:

• The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), acts as the focal point for planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling munitions activities inside the Munitions Control element or work center. Production Controllers (Ordnance) coordinate with munitions, weapons, flightline, security forces, fire department, and command post to ensure effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources to accomplish the mission in a command-and-control role. Duties: Performs duties as the focal point for planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling munitions activities inside the Munitions Control element or work center. Implements maintenance plans through the development and publication of munitions maintenance schedules to include scheduled and unscheduled repair actions, time-sensitive inspections or modifications, component time change replacement and storage monitoring inspections. Performs duties as the focal point for munitions loaded aircraft status and as the liaison between munitions flight and weapons expeditor for sortie generation and munitions requirements. Maintains classified document storage safe and associated equipment. Coordinates the implementation of the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) Program, to include the implementation of individual TCTOs. Maintains AF Munitions Command and Control (AFMC2). Manages facility Key and Lock Control Program to ensure keys and locks that are used to secure munitions are equal to the classification of the items being secured. Conducts training and skill level progression of assigned Air Force Reserve munitions controllers.

Qualifications: In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of all functional areas within the 2W0 munitions career field and the automated systems required to be used in the career field to include CAS, AFMC2, IMDS/G081, and TMRS. Knowledge of maintenance, overhaul, or repair of munitions items and support equipment or projects using multiple-process production methods and procedures to develop plans and information necessary for the control of complex products such as complete round munitions, AUR missiles, MMHE or a variety of complex and long-term facility repair and construction projects. OR EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education. Education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Less one year of specialized experience described above; however, more than one year of graduate level education which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. Therefore, a combination of experience and education. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of all munitions functional areas. Ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet emergency and regular work load requirements. Knowledge of assigned facilities, personnel limits, equipment requirements, and emergency procedures for all area's munitions operations are performed. Knowledge of and ability to interpret military munitions manufacturing terminology, technical orders, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up. Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain a balance in work load. Knowledge and skill of appropriate production/technical processes and material posture of maintenance work centers to assure continuing availability of material requirement. Knowledge of munitions, systems, subsystems, components, and associated inspection, repair, modification, and supply processes. Skill in oral and written communication to effectively communicate with senior munitions and wing personnel; and ability to adapt well to stress and speak in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems, the Combat Ammunition System (CAS), AFMC2, IMDS/G081 and the Tactical Missile Reporting System (TMRS) to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability. Knowledge of ground and explosive safety, conventional munitions maintenance, storage and accountability procedures. Knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of a variety of munitions assemblies. Knowledge of MMHE and support equipment, munitions security and resource protection, supply system, and environmental practices and procedures. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. May be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous material endorsement. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance required for this position. Personal protective equipment must be worn in compliance with safe and health directives PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
