JOB OVERVIEW:
The Production Associate (Temporary) is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of Machine Solutions products and equipment which requires preparation, sub-assembly and construction of company produced electromechanical equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reads and interprets basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
· Assists with or assembles basic sections of machines to customer specifications; attaches unit to assembly, subassembly or frame using various hand and power tools.
· Performs basic mechanical assembly operations to exacting tolerances; positions and aligns parts using fixtures, jigs and templates; works with rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets.
· Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, files, laps and buffs parts to fit; cleans and lubricates parts and subassemblies.
· Utilizes measuring instruments to level and align work, works to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism.
· Assists with or assembles basic electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment.
· Labels, wires and connects switch boxes and control panel terminal boards from basic wiring diagrams. Checks wiring for proper coding and termination; check for shorts, grounds, and continuity.
· Assists with the detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.
· Attends team meetings; provides input on quality, cost, or production issues.
· Communicates and interacts with other team members regularly and effectively.
· This is not a remote position. Maintains a clean and orderly work area in accordance with established safety procedures and best practices.
· Ad-hoc projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· High school degree or equivalent required
· 0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
SKILLS
· Understanding of basic wiring, cable routing, and, if required, soldering techniques.
· Ability to interpret simple assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
· Use of hand & power tools with a familiarity with drills, torque wrenches, crimping tools, and other assembly equipment.
· Skilled in handling small parts and precise assembly work.
· Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands for this role include standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, and reaching. There may be times that involve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and engaging in repetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or writing. Employees must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance. The role may involve operating machinery, using hand tools, and maintaining precise hand-eye coordination. Good hearing and manual dexterity are essential for safely performing tasks and ensuring product quality. To effectively complete the tasks in this position, the vision requirements needed are the ability to adjust focus and identify and distinguish colors.
The work environment for this role is in a manufacturing facility with machinery, tools, and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Noise levels can be high, and tasks may involve lifting or moving parts. Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals.
