You will act as a key technical expert on device behavior, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand how process variations impact performance. Your work will directly contribute to improved product quality, higher yields, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
About the Job:
Analyze final test data and electrical characteristics to identify yield loss drivers and performance gaps.
Diagnose root causes of yield issues and drive structured product yield improvement activities.
Monitor, analyze, and report key yield and product performance trends.
Collaborate closely with Process Engineers to implement process improvements that enhance yield and device performance.
Lead or support product qualification and release activities for new product introductions.
Qualify new process recipes from a device performance and yield perspective, ensuring compliance with product specifications.
Conduct detailed failure analysis on in-process devices and support effective resolution strategies.
Define and implement appropriate rework or corrective actions where required.
Act as a technical expert supporting Quality Assurance in the analysis of customer returns.
Provide strong technical input to cross-functional teams including Design, Process, and Test Engineering to ensure manufacturability and high yield.
Work across a range of power semiconductor products including Rectifier Diodes, Thyristors (1.2kV+) and IGBTs.
About You:
HNC/D or degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, ideally in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or Yield Engineering roles.
Strong analytical skills with experience using statistical tools such as JMP or Minitab.
Solid understanding of semiconductor device behavior and electrical characterization principles.
Ability to translate data and device performance into practical process improvement actions.
Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing technical projects.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma (DMAIC, 5-Why, A3, 8D).
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings clearly.
Self-driven, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable:
Experience with power semiconductor devices (e.g., Thyristors, IGBTs, Diodes, GTOs).
Hands-on experience with electrical characterization or final test equipment.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
