Product Strategy Senior Advisor - Cigna Healthcare - Hybrid

Position Summary

This role supports product strategy for Cigna’s Health Matters Case Management (HMCM), High Cost Claimant (HCC) and clinical medical solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs, clinical outcomes, and business growth. It focuses on innovation, optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful solutions that drive savings, improve engagement, and generate revenue. This role collaborates across product lines and works closely with cross functional teams including finance, marketing, sales, clinical, service operations, legal, underwriting and others to drive successful client growth and retention, superior clinical outcomes, and outstanding customer satisfaction.

This position is an individual contributor and must have a well-developed matrix management process with proven ability to drive to consensus and demonstrate high influencing skills to accomplish significant objectives in a complex environment and execute effective product strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Strategy

  • HMCM product strategy, representing buyer needs and driving product execution.
  • Strong focus on high-cost claimant management and initiatives driving affordability and clinical outcomes
  • Partner and evolve clinical solution strategies using data, client insights, market trends, and cost opportunity analysis.
  • Align matrix partners across Clinical, Operations, and Sales to execute on portfolio development activities and investigation of new product and capability recommendations

Product Development:

  • Manage end-to-end product lifecycle for the both the various products within the HMCM product suite and across clinical specialties of case management.
  • Manage end-to-end product development: scope definition, agile decomposition, architectural/solution build, go to market launch, implementation, and operationalization.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise product leads, project teams, and contracting requirements.
  • Create training materials, content, and enablement tools to support successful rollout.

Business Case & Portfolio Management:

  • Track roadmap initiatives and develop business cases, capability descriptions, and proposals for investment via business cycles of investment, development, sales, launch.
  • Align matrix partners on strategic priorities, technology/system/operational costs, and enterprise value.
  • Participate in portfolio governance processes (e.g., LBC, Pitch Day), representing HMCM initiatives and investment needs.

Client & Sales Enablement:

  • Present solutions to support sales with development and ongoing maintenance of training, RFP responses, and marketing materials.
     

Performance Management:

  • Maintain solution content (e.g., KnowledgeXchange, Allego), track metrics, and support adoption to meet sales targets.
  •  Manage PBAB, ERC and exception processes, including legal consultations and contracting support.
     

Innovation & Optimization:

  • Drives case management innovation, clinical programming/product oversight, and integration to better leverage enterprise assets (e.g., BH, MDLive, virtual care).
  • Drives improvement of clinical programs impacting Case mgt e.g., AI use cases.
  • Ensure HMCM solutions are scalable, differentiated, and aligned with enterprise clinical strategy.

Operational Alignment:

  • Partner with Clinical and Service Operations to operationalize strategic changes, including workflows, training, content, and readiness.
  • Ensure new and re‑tooled capabilities are fully implemented and supported post‑launch.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years in healthcare industry
  • Product experience required; strong product development competencies required including for medical management experience/knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong product strategy experience including business case development, and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex and technical information in understandable way.
  • Proven ability to influence in a matrixed environment.
  • Self-starter with strong project management and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities; detail oriented.
