Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Product Repair/Modification Technician to support the Maintenance & Fabrication team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

 

This role will have a heavy focus on electro-mechanical skills to include an emphasis on wire harness routing & repair, installation of ESD components, electrical grounding & testing, and test instrumentation installation.

Position Responsibilities:

·         Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes

·         Performs routine troubleshooting of electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components

·         Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components

·         Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components

·         Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications

·         Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)

·         Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

·         1+ years’ experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc.

·         Experience in the use and operation of electrical and/or instrumentation test equipment

·         Experience reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications

·         Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

·         1+ years’ experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc.

·         Experience in the use and operation of electrical and/or instrumentation test equipment

·         Experience reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications

·         Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems

·         Experience with instrumentation calibration and use

Additional Information:

·         This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Shift:

·         This role will be on 1st shift, following a 9/80 schedule. As business conditions change, the selected candidate should be able to work any shift as needed.

Relocation:

·         This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
