This position is responsible for the daily planning process and overall operation of the movement of materials into and out of the SDF facility; to include scheduling, warehousing, material expediting, and maintenance of raw materials and finished goods inventory. This position procures raw materials and selected operating supplies in order to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders and successful servicing of the customer base.

 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety stock levels in SAP.  Monitor and adjust levels to sales demand; work within confines of the lead-time policy to organize and maintain production schedule to maximize efficiency while maintaining promised distribution dates
  • Maintain requisitions for imports of finished goods.
  • Maintain scheduling related master data parameters for finished goods and raw materials.
  • Optimize raw material inventory levels in accordance with year-end targets.
  • Coordinate Maintenance and Innovation activities within scheduling process
  • Purchase and maintain accurate, timely inventory of raw materials including imports, and selected production materials. Ensure that all raw materials are on hand for use in the production process.
  • Set-up systems and procedures interacting and integrating with other departments to improve the scheduling process.
  • Approve and finalize production scheduling with the appropriate personnel. Includes coordination of activities with Production Department.
  • Plan resin release schedules with Covestro Resin Group to meet production needs while maintaining inventory control.
  • Guide material requirements planning function to balance Product Management demands with optimum plant production requirements to meet customer demand. Act based on situations to allow plant management to make sound business decisions.
  • Deliver accurate lead time and production cycle information, maintain data integrity in the Business System for accuracy and pass feedback to the Customer Service department as required about late or problem orders. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; OR an Associate’s degree with 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; OR a High School Diploma with 11 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Accounting/Business Administration field
  • SAP experience

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of computers and proficiency with software applications. Preferred systems include Microsoft Office, SAP
  • Elicits cooperation and influences others to drive business strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Possesses excellent communication and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of TPU/PC product portfolio and technical challenges to produce products.
