Your work environment
Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.
Your role
The FMGT Tribe is the change delivery department of Financial Markets (‘FM’) and Group Treasury (‘GT’) that has as purpose to realize our clients’ dreams by connecting them to global markets, providing financial solutions, and delivering long lasting value.
Within the tribe, the Global Equity Listed Products (GEP) area consists of a number of Squads responsible for the end to end delivery and evolution of ING’s technology landscape within both the Equity Structured Products space and Listed Derivatives/Fixed Income. Led by a Product Manager, Financial Markets strategy is translated into executable roadmaps, balancing strategic change and regulatory demand with operational stability through product based delivery.
We are looking for a Product Owner in the Global Equity Listed Products (GEP) domain to lead two squads responsible for applications in the Fidessa, Ullink, and Horizon landscape.
As a Product Owner (PO):
- As Product Owner, you are part of the wider Customer Journey Expert (CJE) community of the FMGT tribe.
- You will combine market and system knowledge, product management, and business expertise to shape product direction and successfully deliver change initiatives.
- You will interface with stakeholders (Trading, Sales, Risk, Ops, IT, Procurement and others) to assess and shape demand, make prioritisation trade-offs explicit, and represent the voice of the business to the squads.
- You will maintain a clear vision for your applications and roadmap, aligned with the Product Manager’s product strategy and agreed outcomes.
- You will lead two squads of highly skilled professionals (IT DevOps engineers, Customer Journey Experts), own prioritization and scope, and drive alignment with neighbouring Product Owners to deliver end-to-end value.
- You will run key Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews) and maintain a high-quality backlog with clear user stories, acceptance criteria and timely delivery alignment.
- You take on CJE activities, such as translating requirements, building and sharing knowledge, solving issues and identifying improvements on processes and systems.
Your key responsibilities
- Own and prioritise the roadmap and backlog for the Fidessa/Horizon squads, balancing strategic change, regulatory demand and operational stability.
- Translate business needs into clear outcomes, requirements and acceptance criteria so the squads can design and deliver the right solutions.
- Drive end-to-end improvements in the execution and trade capture flow across systems, squads and stakeholders.
- Manage vendor and stakeholder governance (change intake, release planning, prioritisation decisions and communication) to keep delivery predictable.
- Safeguard operational stability by translating incidents and risks into preventative backlog items and by coordinating change with run/operations.
- Apply systems thinking and futureproofing by identifying when tactical change creates long-term risk, and by prioritising sustainable solutions that reduce key-person dependencies.
Who are we looking for?
A colleague with a talent for taking it on and making it happen, enthusiasm for helping others to be successful and a knack for always being a step ahead. In other words, you strive to bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast changing and complex environment. You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals. You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions to problems.
We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.
Must-have requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years’ experience in Financial Markets (and/or Treasury), with demonstrated ownership of change delivery in complex stakeholder environments.
- Proven domain knowledge of cash Equities and Equity based structured products and the associated front-to-back flow (trading/execution through trade capture and downstream processing).
- Solid understanding of FM product flows, with depth in execution and trade capture (incl. key controls, risk points and operational handoffs).
- Comfortable working in an IT delivery context (DevOps teams), able to understand application capabilities/constraints and make clear trade-offs on scope, time and risk.
- Proven experience owning prioritisation and making explicit trade-offs between competing demands (product, project and/or people leadership).
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills in English, able to align senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum setting.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with vendor trading platforms and release/change processes (e.g., Fidessa, Horizon or similar).
- Exposure to other asset classes (leveraged derivatives, listed commodities and/or fixed income) in a front-to-back context.

- An informal working environment with innovative colleagues.
- Work Agile, so new ideas come to life faster.
