Product Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

The Product Marketing Specialist supports awareness, adoption, and sales enablement of Phoenix Contact’s industrial product solutions within assigned product areas. This individual contributor role focuses on executing product marketing initiatives by supporting product launches, developing enablement and promotional materials, and assisting with product training for internal teams, distributors, and customers.

The Product Marketing Specialist gathers and analyzes market, competitor, and pricing data to support product positioning, go to market activities, and commercial decisions under established guidance. Reporting to the Manager of Product, this role collaborates with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and distribution partners to support effective market engagement and customer value delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of product marketing plans, programs, pricing, and sales efforts within assigned product focus areas.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data analytics and market potential for specific products and solutions to support positioning, prioritization, and go‑to‑market decisions.
  • Conduct competitor and pricing analytics, including benchmarking, market trend analysis, and support for special pricing requests.
  • Develop technical and sales enablement materials for internal teams, distributors, and customers, incorporating data‑driven insights where appropriate.
  • Implement and coordinate trade show demonstrations and booth designs; participate in trade show activities to support product awareness and engagement.
  • Support and deliver product training to internal teams, distributors, and customers, focusing on product features, benefits, applications, and competitive positioning.
  • Utilize social media (e.g., LinkedIn) to increase awareness of products and solutions and to build industry connections and customer engagement.
  • Respond to technical and application-related questions for Phoenix Contact personnel, manufacturer’s representatives, authorized distributors, and customers.
  • Research products, industries, and applications, including market trends and competitive landscapes, to inform product marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory control and coordination activities, with emphasis on new product launches and commercialization readiness.
  • Coordinate on customer projects and communicate effectively with Blomberg HQ product management and U.S.-based solutions teams.
  • Demonstrate collaboration by building relationships and working effectively across cross-functional teams.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent technical work experience in Data Science, Software Development, Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Must have a basic understanding of factory automation and industrial applications.
  • Prefer two years sales and/or marketing experience with connectors and cable assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of applications within Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detailed reporting skills and analysis insight.

Essential Job Functions

  • 20–25% travel required, including occasional overseas travel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods (2–4 hours at a time).
  • Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time).
  • Must be able to travel via automobile, train, or plane for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days in the office.
