Create outstanding onboarding and origination solutions for customers and employees across retail, business, commercial, wealth and private banking lines of business to markets across the globe.   Deliver product outcomes that work for Backbase and it’s customers across onboarding, account opening or loan origination use cases.

As a Product Manager as part of Digital Sales, you act as an individual contributor in a cross-functional squad comprising of outstanding design and engineering talent.  You collaborate with your team to discover and deliver solutions that are valuable to our customers, viable for our business, provide excellent user experience and are feasible to implement.

Meet the job

  • We provide solutions to enable financial institutions to transform their onboarding and origination experiences for their customers and employees.  This covers a broad range of financial products - everything from deposit account opening, through credit card origination, loan origination and beyond.
  • You will lead the creation of business capabilities and workspaces that can support the broad range of onboarding and origination use cases we solve for across retail, business, commercial, wealth and private banking lines of business. 
  • You collaborate with leadership to agree on the problem space to focus on and then work collaboratively with your squad to discover and deliver solutions to the right problems at the right time, sparring with your Engineering Manager to ensure effective operations across the product life cycle.
  • You leep in close contact with the Product and Engineering leadership as key stakeholders for your team, and frequently align with them to ensure that your roadmap and product plan align with the overall vision for the domain.
  • You make sure you have an active voice of the customer feedback of the loop with colleages in sales, solution engineering and services so that create products that helps them solve real problems for customers - this can be through informal involvement in deal cycles to learn and validate some of your solutions, or through more forma engagement in the (Request For Feature) process
  • You break ideas down into meaningful features and achievable iterations, enabling your squad to continually deliver valuable increments that can be adopted by customers, avoiding big-bang deliveries.
  • Create and maintain your product roadmap, collaborating with other product teams to support the planning, refining, and prioritization of your desired outcomes aligned with our wider ambitions.
  • Be a product evangelist! You take the hard steps to make sure everybody knows about & understands your product. Engage with internal stakeholders working with prospects and customers to inform, upskill and demonstrate how your product can solve real problems 
  • Take care of the whole product life-cycle, from the creation of new features, through the management and communication of maintenance activities, through to the decommission of older unused ones.

How about you

  • 3+ years product management experience.
  • Demonstratable understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery
  • An AI-first mindset with fluency in using tools like Gemini, Lovable and similar to accelerate execution
  • Appreciation of what is required to build outstanding onboarding and origination solutions for financial products across at least one line of business - experience across multiple line of busines is desirable.
  • A demonstrable sense of curiosity about the underlying ‘why’ and an ability to use that curiosity alongside data analysis skills to inform product decisions.
  • Thrive working in an agile manner to deliver value iteratively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to comfortably communicate with the larger organization through both written and verbal means - producing product documentation, leading presentations, workshops and enablement sessions.
  • An appreciation and interest in how modern technology can solve user problems 
  • Have a clear understanding of the cost involved in developing and maintaining software, being able to formulate a business plan to justify roadmap items.
  • You have good leadership skills and always guide and inspire your squads (co-located or nearshore).
