Product Manager, Travel Product Section

As a Product Manager of Travel Product Section, you will be responsible for managing, developing, planning and operation of the advertising products and platform used by hotels registered on Rakuten Travel. You will play an integral part of growing our business through products and business innovations by leveraging your passion for the travel industry.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Travel Product Section which includes 5 product groups with a team

  • Achieve the business KPI by generating and enhancing the values of our products

  • Acting as the project lead and collaborating with both Rakuten internal businesses and external digital marketing partners

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with business decision makers both internally and externally. Ensuring a strong pipeline with the Travel business.

  • Build and maintain growth strategy for business sustainability

  • Cultivate section members’ capabilities for their professional growth

  • Bridge between Singapore office and HQ/Global entities on various projects

  • Facilitate product improvement by working together with our engineering team in Singapore and business team in Japan to design roadmaps and release plans to improve its performance.

  • Be a key decision-maker in the ad product requirement.

  • Be a key point of contact with salespersons, agencies, and vendors.

  • Conduct data analysis to clarify issues and identify improvement points.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years experiences in product and project management, preferably within the online travel industry space

  • Business level Japanese skills are required as you will need to communicate frequently with Japanese internal and external stakeholders

  • People management experience is required

  • Demonstrated expertise in wide range of project management/business lead collaborating with stakeholders both internal and external, or equivalent experiences

  • Capable of multi-tasking projects effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills and conflict management skills.

  • Online Travel Agency (OTA) related business experience is preferred

  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Must be a team leader and a self-starter
