Product Manager
We are looking for a Go To Market PM for South Africa with experience in growing mass-market consumer products with a clear marketplace optimisation focus. You will help us optimise and scale the ClearScore Marketplace and help millions of users take decisions that create greater financial wellbeing.
What you will be doing:
- Owning and optimising the ClearScore Marketplace experience in South Africa to help them make the best financial decisions for them
- Set direction for your product in support of both the overall product strategy and the business strategy
- Partnering with global teams to influence the roadmap, ensure South African market needs are represented, and successfully launch and locally optimise new Marketplace features.
- Working closely with local marketing and commercial teams to ensure coherent go-to-market plans and strong product marketing support for new feature releases
- Create a feasible and viable roadmap to enable ClearScore’s continued growth
- Develop hypotheses, run experiments and analyse data (with data analytics support) to form proven learnings on how to increase value and impact
- Being a central figure leading collaboration between engineering, design, marketing, commercial and global stakeholders
- Acting as the local market expert — building deep user, partner and competitive insights to inform prioritisation and optimisation opportunities
- Be the servant-leader for the team and an advocate for Agile methodologies
- Passionate and excited by the unknown and what we can achieve here at ClearScore
Skills we'd love you to have:
- You have experience growing a consumer product using a variety of techniques both on and off the product. Preferable experience in Marketplace optimisation
- You are comfortable operating as a highly autonomous individual contributor, owning a market end-to-end while collaborating across multiple teams and geographies
- You’ve led teams in both problem and solution spaces and can work effectively within a lean setup (currently 1 engineer), maximising impact through focus and prioritisation
- You've worked hand-in-hand with marketing and commercial teams to build a coherent and impactful strategy on and off the product
- You have experience leading product marketing efforts, translating product capabilities into clear positioning, messaging and go-to-market plans that drive user adoption and partner performance
- You develop a deep understanding of your market, users, partners and product’s problem space, using qualitative and quantitative techniques to generate actionable insights
- You tackle ambiguous problems in a structured way. Your solutions are reasonably bounded but have multiple risks and unknowns. You are aware of successful patterns in the industry and utilise them in your solutions
- You drive communication within your team and with stakeholders in a clear and concise way, being comfortable presenting to the company in demos or all hands. You resolve blockers, risks and issues are proactively raised and resolved. People know what you're doing and why
- You are comfortable working closely with external partners, understanding their needs and concerns, and incorporating these into product and commercial thinking
- You obsess over outcomes and are comfortable making trade-offs between options within your product scope even when ambiguous.
- You prioritise delivering fast learning and value. Your decision making is led by impact, not output
- You create and then own an ambitious roadmap and OKRs for your team which are clearly connected to the company strategy and mission
