Job Description:

Product Line Manager – High‑End SRX & Service Provider

About HPE

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is the global edge‑to‑cloud leader helping organizations connect, protect, analyze, and act on their data—wherever it lives. We bring together the power of AI, networking, and security to enable outcomes at enterprise and service‑provider scale.

Our culture values bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and meaningful impact. At HPE, you’ll have the flexibility to thrive personally while building products that secure some of the world’s most critical networks.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Line Manager to lead the High‑End SRX security portfolio, while also owning the Service Provider (SP) security strategy built on SRX.

This role combines platform-level product ownership with vertical‑specific strategic leadership. You will shape the long‑term direction of SRX as a high‑performance security platform across all segments, while defining how the SRX portfolio wins in Service Provider environments.

This is a high‑visibility role with direct influence on executive strategy, customer success, and revenue growth.

What You’ll Own

High‑End SRX Product Line Strategy

You are the end‑to‑end owner of the High‑End SRX portfolio across its full lifecycle.

You will:

  • Define and drive the long‑term vision, roadmap, and investment strategy for the High‑End SRX platform
  • Own portfolio decisions across features, SKUs, pricing, margins, and transitions
  • Lead product planning from new product definition through launch, growth, and end‑of‑life
  • Translate market and competitive insights into clear differentiation and roadmap priorities
  • Build and present business cases to secure funding and executive alignment
  • Ensure tight alignment across engineering, supply chain, marketing, sales, and operations

SRX Service Provider Security Strategy

You are the strategic owner of how SRX solves Service Provider security challenges.

You will:

  • Define the SRX security strategy for the Service Provider segment
  • Deeply understand SP customer environments and use cases, including:
    • 5G and mobile core security
    • Gi / SGi Firewalls and Security Gateways
    • Roaming and interconnect security
    • Large‑scale DDoS mitigation and threat prevention
  • Shape vertical‑specific requirements, positioning, and value propositions
  • Prioritize capabilities that deliver carrier‑grade scale, performance, automation, and reliability
  • Partner with customers, sales teams, and field organizations to capture real‑world requirements
  • Represent HPE as a trusted security thought leader for Service Providers

How You’ll Work

  • Author clear, actionable product requirements and work closely with engineering on execution
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver high‑quality products with faster time‑to‑market
  • Present roadmap, strategy, and results to VP‑level leadership and key customers
  • Use customer feedback, support data, and market trends to continuously refine priorities
  • Influence outcomes through credibility, data, and clarity—not authority alone

What Success Looks Like

  • A clearly differentiated High‑End SRX portfolio that scales across enterprise and SP demands
  • Strong executive confidence in SRX investment and roadmap decisions
  • Service Providers choosing SRX for their most critical security workloads
  • Products that balance innovation, operational excellence, and business performance

What You Bring

Experience

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in network security.
  • Proven success owning complex, multi‑year product lifecycles
  • Experience working with Service Providers or large‑scale data center environments

Technical & Market Depth

  • Deep familiarity with Service Provider security architectures and deployment models
  • Experience defining both hardware and software product requirements
  • Knowledge of automation and integration with security management frameworks
  • Hands‑on exposure to Juniper SRX or similar platforms (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, F5) strongly preferred

Leadership & Communication

  • Comfortable influencing at the executive level
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Collaborative, customer‑focused, and outcome‑driven

Product & Business Strategy

  • Proven ability to create and execute product strategies that drive measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth, market share, and margin performance
  • Strong experience shaping strategy for Service Provider and/or large data center markets, with a deep understanding of their scale, performance, and reliability challenges
  • Well‑versed in the network security market, including customer deployment models, consumption and monetization strategies, and evolving industry trends
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex products to market, from concept through launch and sustained adoption
  • Ability to forecast demand, define pricing and positioning, and successfully manage product transitions across lifecycle phases

Product Management Excellence

  • 7+ years of full‑lifecycle Product Management experience, owning strategy, roadmap, execution, and end‑of‑life decisions
  • Skilled at defining both hardware and software product requirements, authoring business plans, prioritizing features, and tracking delivery progress
  • Strong customer‑backwards mindset, translating real‑world problems into differentiated product capabilities
  • Experience balancing innovation with operational rigor to deliver predictable outcomes

Network Security & Technical Depth

  • Strong understanding of network security technologies, architectures, and operational requirements
  • Deep knowledge of networking and security services, including firewalls, IPS/IDP, web filtering, antivirus, anti‑malware, advanced threat protection, usability, and system management
  • In‑depth familiarity with Service Provider security use cases, such as:

    • Security Gateways and Gi/SGi firewalls
    • Roaming and interconnect security
    • Large‑scale DDoS protection
  • Good understanding of security solution integration with automation and orchestration frameworks

Leadership, Communication & Collaboration

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a reputation for listening to understand
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across a 360‑degree stakeholder environment
  • High‑energy, resilient leader who enjoys breaking barriers and driving momentum in evolving portfolios
  • Strategic, critical thinker with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Naturally collaborative mindset with a track record of cross‑functional leadership and achievement

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred

Location & Travel

  • Preferred: Bay Area (San Jose)
