See yourself in our team

The Core Foundations sits at the core of the bank’s operational transformation agenda. We deliver foundational, reusable capabilities that underpin the future of CBA’s operations—driving a material shift from traditional banking operations to a scalable, technology-enabled operating model.

You’ll join a Squad, responsible for delivering components of the strategic operations platform (One Ops), including shared UI patterns, orchestration layers, data services and AI-enabled workflows designed for enterprise-wide reuse.

As a Product Manager (PM), you will work alongside Product Owners and Crew Leads to plan and deliver defined initiatives or workstreams within this environment. You will support the mobilisation of a small, cross-functional team—spanning product, technology, operations, risk and change—to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned to strategic priorities.

Do work that matters

As Product Manager supporting the Product Owner, you will help drive day-to-day delivery, backlog refinement and lifecycle activities across the squad. You will partner closely with the Product Owner and Senior Product Manager to operationalise priorities, uplift delivery maturity and ensure outcomes align to customer and enterprise needs.

Your role will focus on enabling effective execution—clarifying requirements, coordinating across stakeholders, tracking performance metrics and ensuring risks and dependencies are proactively managed. The work you do will directly contribute to platform adoption, speed to market and operational efficiency uplift.

Your impact

In this role, you will:

Support delivery excellence

  • Assist the Product Owner in managing and refining the product backlog, ensuring initiatives are clearly articulated and prioritised

  • Coordinate sprint planning inputs, track progress and support release readiness activities

  • Contribute to end-to-end lifecycle management including documentation, governance checkpoints and production coordination

Drive structured execution discipline

  • Monitor delivery performance using defined KPIs and metrics

  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies across streams

  • Ensure compliance, regulatory and risk considerations are embedded in delivery

Enable cross-functional alignment

  • Help coordinate across Product Owners, technology leads, operations, risk, compliance and external partners

  • Help manage interdependencies across squads and enterprise initiatives

  • Maintain traceability between roadmap items, business outcomes and delivery artefacts

Enable platform scalability and reuse

  • Support documentation and standardisation efforts to promote reusability of foundational capabilities

  • Track adoption metrics and support reporting on reuse and straight-through processing uplift

Leadership

  • Provide direction to delivery team members on day-to-day activities, with escalation to the Senior Product Manager/Product Owner as needed

  • Foster collaboration across diverse skillsets (product, engineering, design, operations, risk)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ways of working, templates and lessons learned

Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

  • On-time, on-scope and well-governed delivery outcomes

  • Clear, well-defined backlog items and disciplined execution

  • Strong stakeholder confidence in delivery governance and operational readiness

  • Effective management of cross-functional dependencies

  • Realised business value and measurable operational uplift

  • High-performing, aligned project teams

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have experience in delivery management, business analysis, product support or operations within complex technology environments

  • Bring strong exposure to operations and compliance domains

  • Understand agile delivery practices and have worked within squads or crews

  • Can structure ambiguous problems into clear actions and measurable outcomes

  • Are confident analysing data, tracking metrics and identifying delivery risks

  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across technology and business stakeholders

  • Have working knowledge of product lifecycle management and governance frameworks

  • Understand organisational risk practices and regulatory considerations

  • Are comfortable balancing competing priorities across cost, time, scope and quality

  • Demonstrate strong organisational discipline and attention to detail

  • Contribute positively to team culture, collaboration and continuous improvement
