Product Manager III - Cloud Native BIG-IP

Position Summary

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) is a member of a product team who performs proof of concept development, technical demonstrations and tests, customer discussion support, competitive research and analysis. TPMs partner with other product managers and product development to deliver critical technical inputs to inform product and go to market strategies. 

This position is focused on solutions based on cloud-native BIG-IP products, such as BNK and CIS.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Prototype new solutions and define new use cases for cloud-native BIG-IP products.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to discuss and define requirements and acceptance criteria; identifies and proposes process improvements to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.  
  • Provide feedback on product usability and supportability, to help ensure F5 products provide an intuitive and engaging customer experience
  • Influence market and product requirements and document requirements based on solutions developed.
  • Participate to user documentation reviews (the TPM is one of the first “customer” of new releases / new products).
  • Promote new products by building product demonstrations and presentations for customer and resellers.
  • Create example solutions leveraging F5 technologies to support go to market projects.
  • Document solutions based on documentation guides, blogs, videos, etc.
  • Provide product and market analysis, comparing competitive solutions and product strategies.

Other Responsibilities

  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of network and security technologies 
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes 
  • Deep knowledge of F5 BIG-IP
  • Experience working with large scale infrastructure (hyperscalers, service providers, large enterprises) 
  • Ability to code and make software changes (e.g. scripting)
  • Experience with real world technology deployments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to rapidly pick up new technologies

Qualifications

  • Strong industry background including past experience with cloud platforms.
  • Experience in prototyping technical solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required –with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex technology simply.
  • Demonstrable appreciation for user experience.
