The Product Manager will lead significant product areas and initiatives, with a focus on the Trade Compliance space, tackling complexity and contributing to strategy with strong judgement and analytical rigor. The role will independently manage the full lifecycle for larger features or product components, demonstrating proficient product judgement, analytical skills, and prioritization aligned with strategy. They contribute effectively to their area's strategy, build strong cross-functional partnerships, influence immediate stakeholders, and possess solid domain/technical expertise. They operate with autonomy on clearly defined product areas.
This role reports directly to the Senior Director of SaaS and is part of the Risk & Compliance Product Management Team and will require regular interaction and liaison with the Dow Jones technology team as well as third-party vendors.
Lead and execute the sprint planning and backlog management, ensuring that agreed priorities are adhered to, minor changes are progressed and the backlog is maintained to retain Engineering utilisation.
Lead and execute the communications (internally and externally) of new feature releases and maintenance of user guides.
Effectively partner with cross-functional teams to deliver product features, coordinates with stakeholders. Foster collaboration within your product team and contribute to a positive team environment.
Effectively prioritize features and enhancements for your product, balancing competing needs.
Serve as a product expert and escalation point for the Customer Services team and for clients, including soliciting feedback and communicating the same for product improvements
Lead discussions with cross-functional teams from different product lines to ensure transparency and alignment of strategic product vision when it comes to Dow Jones Risk & Compliance products overall but specifically Trade Compliance.
Independently develop product strategy for your area, understand market opportunities, trends and competitive landscape.
4-7 years of experience and mastery in the practice of product management, with a track record of successfully managing large and complex projects or entire products and showing resilience in managing challenges and navigating complexities in your product area.
Proven ability to independently execute long-term complex product strategies, managing the prioritization and trade-offs for complex product initiatives, and using data to drive decisions.
A solid understanding of technical architecture and the software development process that includes Agile methodologies (Scrum).
The ability to operate with no supervision and independently manage a product area.
Demonstrable experience in scoping, budgeting, scheduling and delivering complex project implementations.
General knowledge of the compliance market and regulatory landscape desirable but not essential
Some experience working with partners and/or outside vendors.
