Product Manager I **Hybrid in Horsham, PA

Horsham, PA Full time

About Our Team

For over 50 years, LexisNexis Reed Technology has partnered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable patent data processing solutions. Our work sits at the core of the patent ecosystem, transforming complex, unstructured submissions into standardized, searchable outputs that power examiner workflows and public dissemination.

We operate in a highly regulated environment with strict security requirements, large-scale data volumes, and complex business rules. Our focus is on modernizing legacy workflows through automation, AI, and platform transformation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager I to support the modernization of patent data processing workflows across pre-grant and grant operations. This role will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing manual effort, and enabling scalable automation across core processing pipelines.

You will own a defined product area or feature set and be responsible for executing against a roadmap that drives measurable outcomes, including productivity gains and cost reduction. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and data teams to identify automation opportunities, validate hypotheses, and deliver solutions that improve both internal workflows and downstream customer value. This role requires strong analytical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to challenge assumptions. You will be expected to connect product decisions directly to economic outcomes, not just feature delivery.

***Conditions of Employment:

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

You must successfully pass a background investigation and achieve Public Trust security clearance.

Must be located near the Horsham, PA location for a Hybrid onsite schedule

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual data entry and repetitive tasks across patent processing workflows.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of automation solutions using AI, machine learning, and rules-based systems.
  • Partner with operations to understand real-world workflows and ensure solutions are usable, adopted, and impactful.
  • Own the roadmap and execution for a defined product area or feature set.
  • Define clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for engineering.
  • Maintain and prioritize backlog aligned to business goals and operational impact.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination.
  • Analyze workflow, productivity, and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and track key metrics.
  • Use data to validate hypotheses and inform prioritization decisions.
  • Contribute to defining and validating the economic hypothesis for your product area.
  • Work with Finance and Operations to ensure delivered capabilities translate into realized savings, not just theoretical gains.
  • Leverage modern AI tools (LLMs, NLP, computer vision) to improve workflow automation and decision support.
  • Contribute to experimentation with agentic workflows and microtask-based automation pipelines.
  • Engage with internal users to understand pain points and validate solutions.
  • Represent customer needs to engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate product progress, insights, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Delivered features that are adopted in operations and measurably improve efficiency
  • Demonstrated productivity gains that translate into cost savings
  • Clear linkage between product capabilities and business outcomes
  • Strong collaboration across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to drive end-to-end impact

Requirements

  • Experience in product management or related experience
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and make trade-off decisions
  • Experience working in Agile environments (backlog management, user stories, sprint execution)
  • Ability to translate business problems into clear product requirements
