The Role

LOCATION:

REPORTS TO:

Head of Product Management – UK & IRE

MAIN PURPOSE:

Responsible for the planning and management of in-market’s product line portfolio(s), and their associated brands, aligned to strategic imperatives that increase market share and deliver profitable growth in the short and long term. 

SCOPE:

Delivers sound insights, as the expert of the product line portfolio(s), on financial performance, competitive landscape and market activity that influence strategies and decisions to increase market share and profitable growth.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • In conjunction with Head of Product, responsible for the planning and execution of kitchen product line portfolio/s, ensuring alignment with global imperatives and growth aspirations.
  • New product introductions, portfolio optimisation, and pricing ensuring alignment with global imperatives and growth aspirations.
  • Ensures appropriate stakeholder management approaches are taken with all channels (retail, builder, marketing and operations) to ensure cross-functional alignment to deliver to plan.
  • Ensures disciplined and effective execution of those plans, including identified priority changes.
  •  Supporting the development and layout of visual product plans/product roadmaps
  • Collaborating on business cases for new products

Product Data, Insights & Administration

  • Deeply understands the product line & associated brands and their price positioning in market aligned to strategic imperatives. 
  • Keeps current with competitor landscape (retail and builder), their position in market, their strengths & weaknesses and market changes/factors that contribute to forecasts, and decisions to proactively respond & target competitor activity.
  • Builds a strong, live understanding of product line’s financial performance, identifying issues & mitigating actions.
  • Collaborates closely with retail, builder and marketing channels to devise strategies that will support their channel.  Includes responding to competitor activity, ensuring right product, through to analysing success of product lines.
  •  Drives portfolio optimisation ensuring correct positioning and mix of high performing products, and rationalising of low performing products, aligned to F&P’s strategic positioning and goals.
  • Provides regular, robust market insights of product line to Global Product Managers (GPM) - providing top level opportunities in-market & contributing to proposals of recommendations for existing & new products.  
  •  Works with marketing team to ensure execution of the product strategy to our customers
  • Ensures a strong knowledge and collaboration with the operations team to phase orders and forecasts appropriately for new launches and existing models in channel

Brand Ambassador

  • Develops effective working relationships that add value to internal and external customers
  • Acts as a brand ambassador in all interactions with customers ensuring relationships are built on mutual trust
  • Able to take decisions based on a market-wide, holistic view and understand how this might affect the whole business

Health & Safety 

  • Actively promotes a culture of health and safety within the team and wider business
  • Takes all practical steps to ensure their own safety at work and ensuring that actions or inactions don’t cause harm to any other person
  • Follows all safety instructions, proactively reports hazards and incidents in the workplace, and collaborates with H&S Representatives to continuously improve and develop work safe solutions

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • 5+ years’ product management experience with consumer goods or FMCG. Proven track record in successfully working cross-functionally/business to project manage product launches to market.
