A day in the life of a Product Lead Transaction Monitoring & Screening
As Financial Crime Prevention touches practically all products and services at ING, the Tribe is organized around two main areas: Customer Due Diligence and Customer Integrity Monitoring.
The Product Lead Transaction Monitoring and Screening—covering Name Screening, Adverse Media Screening and Transaction Screening—ensures the effectiveness of these processes by balancing risk coverage with efficient alert handling. You oversee both generic processes for the entire Belgian client portfolio and the specific control framework for our Correspondent Banking, PSP, and Trade Finance service offerings.
In a nutshell, your key responsibilities include:
- You are the process owner, ensuring that regulatory requirements are translated into and embedded within the Bank’s various business processes, in line with our customer promise. You ensure the right data is available, and that analytics and reporting models provide accurate insights to proactively steer processes and operations efficiently and within risk appetite.
- You actively collaborate with your global colleagues to continually enhance tools and working methods. You look beyond local approaches to identify common foundations for global solutions.
- You periodically organize thematic insights, using well‑structured data for the Compliance Departments of ING Belgium and Group, Senior Leadership, and FCP Process Owners to support informed decisions in anticipation of potential risk exposure driven by market or regulatory developments.
- You enable our vision by sourcing and migrating the existing framework into state‑of‑the‑art detection engines and analytical models, together with Tribe Data Management of ING Belgium and Global Analytics of ING Group.
- You advance FCP’s data‑driven capabilities and set a strategic direction for data insights and analytics by coaching team members, defining the product roadmap, and managing stakeholders around the product.
- You empower your team to thrive and perform at their best—setting direction, helping them develop their craftsmanship, and engaging in continuous conversations about their career development.
- You define the implementation roadmap in line with internal and external regulatory commitments by ordering and prioritizing the backlog in close collaboration with many contributing stakeholders.
- You ensure adherence to Process Control Standards and compliance with applicable regulations and internal/external requirements.
- You steer and guide a team of Customer Journey Experts working across multiple squads organized around your product, providing them with strategic direction to achieve results.
