The opportunity
As a Product Lead within the Center of Expertise Credit Risk Modelling Data, you will be responsible for for managing development and operations of the Scope Lab including full end-to-end responsibility of performing data remediation projects. A correct Modelling scope is the key starting position for all credit risk models and corresponding processes. Hence, the outcome of the work performed by this Product Lead and the team is of critical importance to safeguard regulatory compliant credit risk models. As a client can change scope over time, there is a large scope of stakeholders involved in the processes maintained by this Product Lead. This requires active stakeholder management across the bank. Finally, this role includes direct exposure to regulators (ECB/DNB) including presenting and defending (historical) scope decisions.

COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank’s operations. We translate our complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives.
The Center of Expertise Credit Risk Modelling Data is responsible for delivering model-ready credit risk data for ING's global WB Credit Risk modelling landscape. The CoE acts as a single point of contact for modelling data sets, bringing together scoping, Default and LGD data capabilities while ensuring data is sourced, processed, delivered and governed in line with ING's regulatory and modelling standards.
Roles and responsibilities
As a product lead, we expect you to:
•Autonomously achieve results in complex regulatory environments by ensuring timely ScopeLab releases, managing remediation outputs, and maintaining clear stakeholder communication.
•Build strong relationships across CRO, COO, IT, and Risk domains, ensuring governance and decision-making processes are consistent and transparent.
•Support evolving data landscapes, align with ING targets, and reduce friction in cross-domain delivery processes while preparing for future architecture.
•Implement robust governance processes, manage audit and MV findings, and maintain operational compliance across all domains.
•Contribute to long-term planning, avoid fragmented initiatives, and ensure execution certainty aligned with Scope Lab cycles and ECB/DNB requirements.
•Foster talent, create succession pipelines, and embed automation capabilities to deliver end-to-end processes efficiently.
Your competencies
You are curious, proactive, and analytical, with a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery. You thrive in complex environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity, high-pressure situations and working towards challenging deadlines.
Required skills and experiences
•University / Postgraduate (Master’s degree).
•General Experience: Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years). Previous experience of working in complex environment, dealing with multiple internal and external stakeholders (over 3 years to 6 years). Solid knowledge of managing large transformation/change projects (over 3 years to 6 years). Exposure to Risk related topics and projects (3 years to 6 years). Experience with Credit Risk Modelling, calculation and reporting (1 to 3 years).
•Managerial Experience: Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 6 years to 10 years) Builds Effective Teams / Customer Focus / Drives engagement / Drives Results / Ensures accountability / Strategic mindset.
•Experience with SAS and Python, SQL is a plus
•Dynamic programming
•Good understanding of Credit Risk modelling concepts
•Good understanding of Financial Risk management is a plus
•A personality and the capabilities to function effectively and independently even in complex,high pressure situations
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data and information into actionable roadmaps and decision proposals
•Excellent level of English
