The opportunity
The opportunity in COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank’s operations. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory
reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment.
We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take
explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives. To deliver on these ambitious promises, we are looking for a Product lead who has an end-to-end strategic focus around our services and leads our squads in terms of clear prioritization, accountability and capabilities. The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end transformation responsibility.
Job description
As a Product Lead you will be responsible for creating and maintaining infrastructure for Risk Data, including architecture, data pipelines and datamarts. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying new areas for Risk Data to support, such as expanding data governance support from Credit Risk data to Financial Risk data or delivering data services for new Risk Models.

As a Product Lead you report hierarchically to the Risk Data Tribe Lead.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Product Lead, you:
• Actively manage all internal parties and projects to successfully deliver upon the initiatives within the Risk Data Foundation area
• Take ownership of a sizable number of explicit regulatory transformation initiatives
• Be the hierarchical manager of a team of up to 10 people
• Be able to work in a collaborative and highly complex setting
• Be able to influence the level playing field of your team including teams outside of COO Risk
• Able to take responsibility, steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data; managerial courage to question and make decisions for highly complex issues
• Build the craftsmanship of the employees in the team in line with the strategy of the Risk Data Tribe
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulation and internal/external requirements

• Lead and deliver complex (multi-year) change programs on program level – covering multiple countries / functional departments

• Be organizational savvy, you maneuver easily through complex policies, processes and people-related organizational dynamics across ING
• Look ahead, you show a strategic mindset, and you find future opportunities which you can translate into concrete strategies
• Be tech savvy, where you anticipate and leverage innovations in digital and technical applications that make ING commercially stronger and more effective
• Build an effective team, that has diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
• People management: being responsible for the inflow, progression, and outflow of employees of ‘your’ teams and playing an active role in the well-being and engagement of employees and the development of their craftsmanship
Required skills and experiences
• University/Postgraduate (Master’s Degree)
• Experience in data modelling and data architecture (Over 3 years to 6 years)
• Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years).
• Previous experience of working in complex environment, dealing with multiple internal and external stakeholders (over 3 years to 6 years).
• Experience in defining strategies and policies to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames
• A proven track record in process management, backlog management and resource planning
• Have a ‘can do’ mentality, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile
• An excellent level of English
