The primary purpose is to take complete ownership of SAP Job Administration and Enterprise Workload Automation services within the ZICC SAP Basis organization. Key accountabilities include:
• Own and manage job scheduling requirements for global SAP and enterprise projects, ensuring scheduling design aligns with business, operational, and compliance needs.
• Lead the analysis of business requirements and architect end-to-end job workflows, calendars, dependencies, notifications, and error-handling strategies using Control-M.
• Define and govern job scheduling calendars and execution conditions based on global business operations and critical processing windows.
• Partner with SAP application and technical teams to oversee testing of scheduling solutions in non-production environments and ensure controlled promotion to production.
• Provide technical leadership for SAP batch jobs, process chains, IDOC inbound/outbound automation, and critical banking and SWIFT file transfer interfaces.
• Oversee automation of OS- and database-level operations and third-party application integrations through enterprise scheduling solutions.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of business-critical and high-frequency jobs, proactively managing risks to ensure uninterrupted execution.
• Establish KPI frameworks to track job execution health, failure trends, SLA adherence, and operational performance, and review insights with stakeholders.
• Drive optimization of Control-M workflows, licensing consumption, and agent utilization, including periodic housekeeping of unused jobs and connections.
• Govern system resource utilization related to job scheduling, including Windows and Unix/Linux servers, and coordinate optimization initiatives with infrastructure teams.
• Own governance of job scheduling service accounts, SAP batch users, and Active Directory access, ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.
• Lead incident management and root cause analysis for job failures, including validation of SAP programs, variants, ABAP dumps, system logs, and file transfers.
• Act as the escalation point for critical production issues, audit inquiries, and urgent ad hoc job requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
• Manage and mentor BAU support teams, including workload distribution, performance oversight, and capability development.
• Plan and coordinate project cutovers, disaster recovery testing, SAP maintenance activities, and controlled job queue holds during planned or emergency outages.
• Own execution and governance of high-availability failover and failback activities for Control-M Server and Enterprise Manager platforms.
• Establish and maintain training programs, documentation, and knowledge transfer to other team members, users and job stakeholders as required.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Interacting with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, understand business processes, and ensure that technical solutions align with organizational goals and objectives.
• Work with implementation partners who may be responsible for deploying, configuring, or maintaining integrated solutions within IT landscape.
• Coordinate with developers and other members of the development team to implement technical system solutions, share knowledge, and address technical challenges.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Systems Administration, IT Infrastructure Management, or Business
• Master’s degree (MS or MBA) preferred.
Experience:
• 8+ years of enterprise SAP job scheduling and workload automation experience with multiple full lifecycle implementations
• 5+ years of hands-on Control-M administration experience
• Experience leading global delivery teams and managing enterprise production environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, SAP ecosystems, and cloud-hosted environments
• Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead in unstructured, high impact environments.
• Experience in life sciences / pharmaceuticals industry preferred.

• Deep expertise in SAP Job Scheduling and Workload Automation, including SAP batch jobs,
• Strong experience troubleshooting SAP job failures, ABAP dumps, system logs, variants, and file transfer validations.
• Experience with Windows and Unix/Linux administration, scripting (PowerShell, Shell), and SQL (MSSQL)
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Ability to define KPIs, create operational dashboards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong incident management, escalation handling, and executive communication skills.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Regular working hours are from 11:00 am to 08:00 PM IST.
Sometimes, more overlap with the EST Time zone is required during production go-live.
