As a Product Engineer Specialist , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Expanding and managing our product and process understanding for assigned products
• Leading product changes and supporting process changes. Ensuring they are carried out with full knowledge of the implications and according to change control procedures
• Supporting the manufacturing plants in raw material changes, dual sourcing, cost saving and supply interruption prevention projects protecting a large global business
• Creating, reviewing, approving and owning product standards and test methods to support customer requirements.  Driving common product standards across global sites, working with product support teams in other regions
• Assisting the plants with complaint resolution and reduction projects as needed.  Using root cause analysis to identify failure modes
• Supporting new product development teams to ensure a stable supply chain is established that delivers consistent customer value. 
• Other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Four (4) years combined product and/or process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• Four (4) years of statistical analysis experience or pressure sensitive adhesives experience.
• Experience collaborating with laboratory and manufacturing colleagues in other regions of the world

Work location:

• Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
