Product Engineer II - ArcGIS Enterprise Portal

We're looking for an organized, motivated individual to support key Enterprise portal workflows. You'll help deliver Map Viewer features in ArcGIS Enterprise, as well as data management and ArcGIS Arcade workflows. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with Product Engineers and Software Developers - both on our team and across Esri - to identify and resolve issues throughout the software development life cycle. As an advocate for critical end-user functionality, you'll apply a mix of manual and automated testing to ensure we create a quality product that meets user needs. Beyond testing, you'll contribute to technical reviews of product documentation and showcase features through videos, presentations, and other demonstrations. As a result, your work will enable customers to use our mapping technology to solve complex, real-world challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the development of Map Viewer, ArcGIS Arcade, and data management workflows in ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Collaborate cross-platform with Product Engineers and Software Developers to resolve issues
  • Create and execute manual test plans for new and existing software capabilities
  • Work with feature team to prioritize backlog of issues, including triaging customer-reported bugs
  • Communicate functionality through software documentation and workflow videos for both internal and external audiences
  • Assist in the creation and monitoring of automated tests

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with ArcGIS software, preferably ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and/or various ArcGIS applications (such as ArcGIS Field Maps)
  • A self-motivated team player with an interest in continuous learning and building software products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Software testing experience with large scale GIS systems or desktop, web, or mobile applications
  • Experience with JSON, REST, Fiddler and browser debugging tools
  • Familiarity with manual and automated testing practices and tools for functional and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM and Agile software development
  • Familiarity with Relational database management systems (such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and more)
  • Experience with programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, ArcGIS Arcade, and more)

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$66,000$102,000 CAD
