The Opportunity

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Product Development Technician to join our team based in Stafford on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The purpose of this role is to work across our SME E-Trade offering to enact change to the product suite, ensuring that all our E-Trade products are fit for purpose and aligned with business plan objectives.

Your new role

Project delivery

  • Own end-to-end delivery of E‑trade product changes, aligned to business plan objectives

  • Work closely with internal teams (E‑trade, Underwriting, Pricing, Actuarial, IT and MI) to agree scope, requirements, risks and progress

  • Liaise with external partners (Acturis, Polaris and other software providers) to deliver to QBE requirements, on time and within budget

  • Lead and oversee testing, including creation of test packs to ensure accuracy and minimise risk

  • Provide technical support to outsourced UAT providers where applicable

  • Ensure all changes meet required governance and control standards

Agile & BAU delivery

  • Enable smaller, more frequent product changes through agile ways of working

  • Monitor system integrity, including data uploads, to support uninterrupted trading and data flow

  • Investigate BAU issues and upload failures, co‑ordinating resolution with internal and external stakeholders

About you:

  • Some relevant work experience in Insurance in a Business Analyst/Systems Analyst/Product Technician/Underwriting support role (or similar)

  • Proactive and clear communication

  • Rigorous attention to detail

  • Experience working to deadlines

  • Internal and external stakeholder management at varying levels of seniority

  • Testing and project management experience would be ideal
