The Product Developer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments and data programs within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized data authority for an area within the business. Requires good understanding of Spread Products business and products. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex data deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of Finance related workstream partnering with business and Finance SMEs.

  • Preparing concise Markets activity/progress reports adjusted to the audience.

  • Providing check and challenge on activity/progress reports by other functions.

  • Utilizing best practice PM methodology (e.g., maintaining plans, risk and issues, etc.) that fit stakeholders’ needs.

  • Driving end results of the project as a representative of Markets.

  • Facilitating remediation-related engagement with the Markets product lines.

  • Proactively tracking project progress against goals.

  • Possess the knowledge, skills and experience to be able to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming.

  • Clearly articulate problems, bringing the right people together to solve problems and knowing when it has been properly addressed and closed.

  • Promotes partner involvement through effectively communicating project status across a varied set of stakeholders.

  • Defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of good project management practices (i.e., resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled).

  • Responsible for activities related to the Data Governance and Management strategy including ensuring compliance with EDO’s Data Governance Policy, Standards and Procedures.

  • Proactively monitor data quality scorecards, metrics and identify anomalies and inconsistencies

  • Prepare reports and documentation to track data quality metrics, identify trends and issues and communicate to stakeholders

  • Track and monitor data quality issues, perform root cause analysis by partnering with technology and internal data teams and ensure timely remediation / escalation of the issues

  • Collaborate with technology teams, data managers and consumers to improve data quality and reduce data quality issues

  • Identify and manage data quality issues till resolution

  • Collaborate in preparation of Data Quality Governance Forum presentations on monthly basis

  • This role manages the end-to-end Data Concerns lifecycle including identifying and managing data quality issues till resolution, agreeing to and tracking business priorities, incorporating regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Works in close co-ordination with Technology, EDO, Data Stewards and other stakeholders to fulfill data delivery objectives

  • Identifies solutions ranging across data analytics, reporting, and trade data processing

  • Partners with senior team members and leaders and a widely distributed global user community to define and implement data solutions

  • Creates clear and specific project plans, business and technical requirements documents for data execution

  • Focuses on data quality controls and governance, including providing data quality rules to Eagle team, reviewing and providing signoff when DQ rules are ready to build and deploy

Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of experience in Finance, Risk, Business, or Markets Operations related roles

  • Familiarity with Markets Fixed Income Products such as Debt Securities, Credit Derivatives, liquidity, CCAR/DFAST, FR Y, RWA reporting and Resolution planning.

  • Experience with Capital Markets products and how they are represented in trade capture and ledger systems.

  • Must have strong and concise communications skills, i.e., an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing. This includes ability to articulate data quality issues and status to various teams and stakeholders

  • Extremely detail oriented and ability to both investigate deeply into content of the material but also look across the portfolio.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests/escalation.

  • Proactively seeks and develops resolutions to data issues. Ability to drive progress issue-by-issue to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Experience managing inter-department dependencies (e.g., working with Compliance, Technology, Internal Audit, etc.).

  • Ability to plan and organize, working well both in a team setting and independently

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, strategically and analytically and to creatively solve problems.

  • Proven prior experience/successes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PPT, MS Project to prepare meeting materials, executive summaries etc. for management

  • Solid understanding of data governance and quality principles and standards, and industry best practices

  • Understanding of issue root cause analysis of data quality issues and track data issues through remediation life cycle 

  • Should be proficient in using SQL, excel, Tableau and other BI tools to query and aggregate data

  • Must possess strong analytical skills to break down complex and large data sets into simple parts and create visualizations

  • Ability to multi-task and managing deadlines effectively

  • Comfortable with performing data investigations that require a high degree of accuracy with tight timescales

  • Ability to create business analysis, troubleshoot data quality issues, and conduct exploratory and descriptive analysis of business datasets

Key Skills Preferred:

  • Data Lineage and Architecture experience a plus.

  • Experience on regulatory programs preferred.

  • Markets knowledge (e.g., risk and controls, trade lifecycle, products, etc.) a plus.

  • Knowledge of Compliance functions a plus (e.g., AML, KYC, etc.).

  • Big 4 experience preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
