Our Why, What and How

We are a proudly purpose-led ASX-listed fintech on a mission to power peoples’ progress and make a real difference in the world, starting right here in Australia. By building products and experiences designed to have a positive impact on the financial health and lives of our customers, we are inching ever-closer to achieving our purpose.

We offer smarter, fairer loans that help people kick their goals sooner, a nifty round up tool to help people get out of debt and save even faster, and a dashboard that helps people track and improve their credit scores.

The better we do this, the more positive change and impact we can have on our customers. Now is the time to join one of Australia’s fastest growing fintechs and make an impact.

We are a people first business and value flexibility as part of our work - our team work in a hybrid working environment, 3 days per week in our beautiful office space.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join our Experience and Design team in a hands-on role where you will be designing end-to-end experiences that solve real problems for our customers and the business. As a Product Designer, you will be a part of a tight-knit, lean and mature Experience Design team and sit within one of four cross-functional delivery squads working closely with engineers, a product manager and stakeholders across the business.

Things move pretty quickly at Wisr, so organisation is key and you will be comfortable scoping design work and setting expectations around milestones and what your squad and stakeholders can expect and when.

What You’ll Do

Discovery & Research
  • Plan and conduct end-to-end user research, defining qualitative and quantitative approaches, recruitment methods and delivering actionable insights back to the team.
  • Scope and gather requirements through structured facilitation of collaborative working sessions, including project kick-offs, design jams and workshops.
Design & Delivery
  • Own and deliver end-to-end UX solutions that move meaningful customer and business metrics.
  • Support the creation of living artefacts including journey maps, process flows, personas and product recommendations, to align and co-design with stakeholders.
Collaboration & Influence
  • Identify problems and opportunities that influence the product roadmap and contribute to business objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and key business stakeholders to strengthen cross-functional ways of working.
  • Advocate for design excellence and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the design practice.
What Success Looks Like at 6 Months
  • You're delivering work on time and to a standard the team and stakeholders can rely on.
  • You have a clear sense of how long your work takes and can set realistic expectations with your squad.
  • You’ve developed trusted relationships across the business and can collaborate with confidence.
  • The work you're doing is making a difference - you can point to the customer and business value you’re contributing to.

About you

As the Product Designer in your squad, you will own and deliver across the entire design process from scoping and discovery to handover. Ideally, you have had experience working in an agency or scaleup environment with the ability to work dynamically with various stakeholders across the business.

You’ll also be/have:

  • Tertiary qualification in UX, Visual Communication, Service Design or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a UX/UI or transferable design role.
  • Strong systems thinking. You’re thorough in the detail but can connect and understand how micro decisions affect the bigger picture.
  • An exceptional communicator: clear, concise and an active listener who gives and receives feedback with emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities with a positive outlook.
  • Proficient in design and research tools including Figma, Miro and Dovetail.
  • Bias to impact over process. You’re willing to try new ways and are constantly honing your craft.
