Job Description

As a Product Designer II, you’ll build on foundational design skills to take ownership of small to mid-sized features across our automotive platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into thoughtful, usable interfaces, while continuing to grow your expertise in design systems, interaction design, and user research.
You’ll contribute to design critiques, collaborate on user testing, and help refine our design processes. This role is ideal for designers ready to deepen their craft and take on more responsibility in shaping product experiences.

What You’ll Do

Position Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements and user insights into intuitive, user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile platforms.

  • Assist in user research activities, including persona development, heuristic evaluations, usability reviews, and competitive analysis, to inform design decisions.

  • Create and iterate on UX deliverables such as user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, prototypes (low/high fidelity), and information architecture.

  • Extend and apply the design system using reusable components, icon libraries, templates, and brand standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, developers, content strategists, and UX leads—to align on goals, constraints, and implementation strategies.

  • Communicate design rationale clearly in design reviews and stakeholder presentations, advocating for user needs and business impact.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies and workflows, providing design assets, specifications, and feedback throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Support usability testing and review behavioral analytics to validate and optimize design performance.

  • Maintain detailed design specifications and partner with developers to ensure accurate implementation, including involvement in user acceptance testing.

  • Stay current with UX trends, tools, and technologies, and contribute to evolving team processes and design practices.

  • Manage time effectively by estimating effort, planning schedules, and prioritizing tasks within sprint cycles.

  • Use general-purpose LLM tools to analyze and synthesize user behavior, identify patterns, and prioritize opportunities.

  • Use AI to accelerate discovery, experimentation, development, and recommend improvements.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline and 2+ years of experience designing responsive web, mobile applications, or a related field with a portfolio demonstrating thoughtful UX solutions.
    • The right candidate may have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years of experience or 6 years’ experience in a related field with no degree
  • Experience with end‑to‑end product design execution, including user research, discovery, concept ideation, prototyping, delivery support, and post‑release validation across one or more shipped digital products
  • Experience with Figma, including production design, prototyping, and collaboration within cross‑functional product and engineering teams
  • Experience with design systems and component‑based design, including applying reusable components, templates, and brand standards to support consistent product experiences
  • Experience with AI‑assisted design tools and workflows to accelerate discovery, experimentation, and rapid prototyping within the product design process
  • Experience with user research activities, such as discovery research, usability testing, interviews, heuristic evaluations, or feedback collection, and applying findings to design iterations
  • Experience with collaborating in Agile product teams, providing design assets, specifications, and iterative updates throughout sprint‑based development cycles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing AI‑powered products or agentic experiences, including considerations such as model limitations, guardrails, evaluations, and feedback loops

  • Experience with text‑to‑prototype tools for rapid concept generation and validation

  • Experience with post‑release product validation, such as collecting user feedback on shipped features and partnering with product and engineering teams to iterate based on findings

  • Experience presenting and articulating design work through the full UX process, from research through delivery and iteration, rather than final visual outputs alone

  • Experience using general‑purpose LLM tools to analyze and synthesize user behavior data, identify patterns, and prioritize design opportunities

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.

Additional Information Regarding the Position:

  • Reports to UX Manager or Product Design Lead

  • May require occasional travel
