Do work that matters
At CommBank, we're on a mission to make banking delightful and human-centred. The Consumer Finance squads are at the forefront of this mission, delivering outstanding user experiences for our customers across our Cards products. You'll be part of the Consumer Finance design team (Retail Bank).
See yourself in our team
We’re looking for an experienced mid-level Product Designer to join our Cards Transformation team, where we’re reimagining how customers use, manage and experience their cards.
You enjoy working end-to-end, from discovery and service design through to UI design and delivery, and you’re comfortable getting hands-on to simplify complex journeys and modernise existing experiences. You’ll partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Business SMEs in an agile environment to understand customer and operational needs, and translate those insights into thoughtful, practical and scalable design solutions.
In this role, you’ll contribute to uplifting card experiences and processes, designing with modern platforms and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled experiences, to improve how customers interact with their cards. You’ll focus on high-quality design execution, collaboration and continuous improvement, playing an important role in delivering outcomes that create meaningful value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery work to uncover customer problems, validate opportunities, and inform product strategy through research, workshops, and co-design.
Translate insights into concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs, ensuring solutions are both desirable for customers and feasible for engineering.
Apply systems thinking and service design techniques to shape an offering that must anticipate the needs of customers, and the staff who support them.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the agile lifecycle — from problem framing and ideation to delivery and iteration.
Champion customer-centricity and advocate for best-in-class user experience at every stage of the product development process.
Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions by grounding decisions in customer insights, design thinking, and data.
Facilitate and participate in design critiques, workshops, and agile ceremonies, providing and receiving actionable feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
Contribute to evolving our design system for consistency, scalability, and efficiency.
Measure and validate impact post-launch, using a mix of qualitative and quantitative insights to iterate and improve solutions.

Strong understanding of human-centred design methodologies and how to apply them pragmatically in a fast-paced agile environment.

Strong understanding of the principles and interaction models required to design responsible, and scalable AI powered experiences
