JOB SUMMARY:
The Product Designer supports enterprise-wide brand and product design initiatives by contributing to the development, documentation, and maintenance of design standards, specifications, and creative deliverables across Choice Hotels’ portfolio of brands. Under the direction of the Head of Design Strategy, this role partners with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors to ensure consistent execution of brand design intent. The Product Designer plays a key role in managing FF&E specifications, supporting new product development, and maintaining design libraries and prototype environments. This role helps translate strategic design direction into clear, usable standards and tools that support implementation across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specification & Standards Management
Maintain and update FF&E specifications, brand design standards, and guidelines across all brands.
Manage the specification tool platform, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and coordination with IT and software partners to resolve issues.
Prepare and distribute change bulletins, vendor updates, and supporting documentation in coordination with senior team members.
Support the rollout and integration of new brand standards and product design initiatives.
Product Development Support
Assist with the development of products for new design packages.
Support performance reviews, testing, and discontinuation efforts related to existing products.
Creative Design & Documentation
Support preparation of research, presentations, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate across cross‑functional teams to support timely delivery of design packages, vendor coordination, and implementation milestones.
Contribute conceptual and schematic‑level creative deliverables, including sketches, models, visualizations, and other materials that communicate design intent.
Participate in post‑project reviews and continuous improvement efforts to enhance design processes, documentation, and workflows.
Experience Studio & Design Lab Management
Maintain the Experience Studio design library, ensuring accurate organization, vendor updates, and product tracking.
Manage test lab and warehouse activities, including sample delivery, prototype testing, performance evaluations, and logistics for installations and displays.
Coordinate vendor visits and material evaluations in partnership with Procurement and Facilities.
Other Duties
Perform additional design‑related support activities as needed to support team objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Employment Experience
2–4 years of experience in hospitality, brand, interior, or product design.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with specification and documentation tools such as Bluebeam.
Working knowledge of 3D design software (Revit and/or SketchUp required).
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited design program or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Ability to travel up to 10–15% of the time.

LOCATION & HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE:
This role is based at the Choice Hotels corporate headquarters located in North Bethesda, MD. All Choice Hotels associates follow a hybrid work schedule and requires regular, in‑person presence at the Pike & Rose office Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office and work on‑site as required to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and business needs.
COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:
Salary Range: $66,698-$77,000 annually
