About the role:
Location: Remote within India
Team: Product Design
Reports to: Director / VP Product Design

Type: Full-time
Span: 5–7 Product Designers (Assoc → Senior/Lead)
Mode: ~50% Individual Contributor, ~50% People Leadership

We’re looking for a Product Design Manager who can lead by doing—someone equally comfortable defining strategy, mentoring designers, and getting into Figma to solve hard problems.

You’ve spent 8–10 years in product design for SaaS platforms and products, including leadership experience in SaaS or AI-driven products. You can zoom out to align design direction with business outcomes and zoom in to deliver pixel-perfect interfaces that inspire the team.

You’ll report to the Design Director or the VP of Product Design and lead a team of product designers while maintaining individual contributor responsibilities on key initiatives.

As a player–coach, you’ll shape both the craft and culture of design. You’ll guide the team through ambiguity, set a high bar for quality, and balance creative vision with execution speed. You’ll use research, data, and storytelling to influence product strategy, ensuring design plays a central role in how we build, launch, and scale.

Experience with AI-powered design tooling is mandatory. Applications without a folio will not be considered.

What We’re Looking For
In This Role, You Will
- Lead and design. Own end-to-end design work for high-impact product areas while mentoring and managing a team of designers.
- Coach talent. Provide feedback, guidance, and growth paths for designers at different levels; run structured design critiques and career conversations.
- Shape direction. Partner with PM and Engineering leadership to define product vision, priorities, and design principles.
- Raise the bar. Establish and maintain design quality standards across all surfaces—web, mobile, and system components.
- Drive systems thinking. Contribute to and evolve the design system, ensuring scalability and consistency.
- Influence outcomes. Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions and validate impact.
- Operate hands-on. Actively contribute design deliverables—flows, prototypes, visual systems—especially for complex or strategic projects.
- Champion accessibility and inclusion. Embed inclusive design practices into every stage of the design process.
- Evangelize design. Represent the design function in leadership forums, cross-team planning, and stakeholder reviews.

Must-Have Qualities
- 8–10 years of product design experience, with at least 2 years leading or mentoring other designers
- A strong portfolio showing breadth across user research, interaction design, and visual craft for SaaS or data-rich products
- Proven ability to balance strategy, execution, and people leadership
- Experience designing and shipping complex, multi-surface products in collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Deep understanding of design systems, accessibility, and scalability
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments; bias for action without sacrificing quality
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can advocate for design to executives and engineers alike
- Familiarity with AI-powered design and intelligent interface design is a must Empathy, humility, and a team-first mindset

You’ll Thrive Here If
- You love coaching others but never want to stop designing
- You can balance autonomy with alignment and clarity with creativity
- You enjoy shaping both what we design and how we design it
- You believe good design is both a process and a culture
