The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for the research and development of transformers, contactors, and transfer switches.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and Development of transformers, contactors, and transfer switches. 50%
  • Evaluate existing Product lines and identify design modifications for Cost Reduction and/or Performance Improvement 30%
  • Participate in the introduction of New Product designs into manufacture 15%
  • Interface with Customers to define applications and product requirements and identify product design opportunities and solutions 5%

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred with a power background) or Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-2 years of experience in electrical-mechanical design (designing transformers, contactors, relays – nice to have)
  • Knowledge of third-party agency approval processes and relevant standards (UL, CSA, CCC, etc.)
  • Project Management skills, working cross functionally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with assembly manufacturing processes (winding coils, TIG welding – nice to have)
  • Experience with CAD (Inventor or SolidWorks)
  • High attention to detail

Salary Range:

$64,200 - $95,460

The salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
