What You Will Do:

  • Develop production drawings and 3D models from existing documents or sketches with minimal guidance.

  • Create and maintain Oracle BOMs, part numbers, routers, item masters, and related documentation.

  • Ensure design changes comply with regulatory standards (e.g., NACE, API, UL).

  • Maintain product design integrity to meet local, federal, and industry safety requirements.

  • Design and develop prototypes, create test plans, and validate design changes or new suppliers through analysis and testing.

  • Participate in or lead design reviews, providing feedback using tools such as FMEA, analytical methods, and field/lab testing.

  • Engage in Lean events and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Track and report departmental KPIs.

  • Manage the engineering change process from initiation to implementation.

  • Support and maintain all product lines, including troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving product-related issues.

  • Investigate and resolve design-related issues in production environments.

  • Assist with quality inspections, including First Article Inspection (FAI).

  • Identify and report unsafe acts or conditions immediately.

Position Details:

  • Candidate must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding areas

  • Work in office cubicle environment and manufacturing floor supporting valve & controls product lines

  • Working 4 days in office option of working 1 day from home per week

  • Work week and shift: Monday through Friday, regular business hours

  • Compensation package offered: competitive annual salary paid bi-weekly and eligibility for annual incentive plan bonus program

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • A year of experience in a related field in valves or similar products.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Skilled in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or equivalent tools.

  • Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, fluid flow, and pneumatics.

  • Familiarity with process control components (valves, actuators, regulators, level controls).

  • Knowledge of quality standards, manufacturing processes, and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).

  • Logical thinking, deductive reasoning, and attention to detail.

  • Cause-and-effect analysis capabilities.

  • Product evaluation, testing, and reporting skills.

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Oracle, Adobe.

Physical Demands:

  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

  • Minimal climbing stairs, lifting between 10lbs up to 25lbs, handling, grasping, turning, holding or using hands, dialing, standing, walking, hearing and writing

  • Occasional speaking between 11% and 33%

  • Constant use of a keyboard, mouse and viewing a computer monitor, sitting, and seeing greater than 66%
