At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry. Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.
Cloudera Pricing Strategy team is seeking a Product Data Analyst to drive data-driven decision-making for our on-premise software business. In an increasingly data-driven market, the ability to collect and act upon usage data is a strategic necessity. In this role, you will act as the bridge between raw infrastructure telemetry and commercial success, analyzing usage patterns to enhance visibility and accuracy across our install base. Your work will directly empower our sales and engineering teams to identify usage trends, reduce manual baselining efforts during renewals, and support the transition to modern, value-based pricing models.
As a Product Data Analyst, you will:
Build Value Leakage Dashboards: Design and maintain internal dashboards that aggregate usage data from diagnostic bundles and system logs to proactively flag customer usage trends, and license compliance to account teams.
Analyze Unstructured Telemetry: Develop scripts and models to parse, clean, and standardize complex, manual customer data logs to calculate actual node density and feature consumption.
Support Renewal Operations: Provide the Sales and Solution Engineering teams with accurate, data-driven baselines of customer environments, reducing the manual time spent verifying deployments during the renewal process.
Model Financial Opportunity: Quantify the commercial potential and implication on financial forecasts and account plans
Operationalize Pricing Models: Assist in the transition to usage-based pricing models by modeling how current usage metrics translate to new billing units
Monitor Data Coverage: Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to telemetry compliance
We’re excited about you if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
2+ years of experience in a technical analytics role, such as Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Sales Operations, or Systems Engineering.
Technical Skills:
SQL & Scripting: Advanced proficiency in SQL is required. Strong proficiency in Python or R is essential
Visualization: Proven experience building actionable dashboards for non-technical stakeholders using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to synthesize complex, incomplete data sets to form a cohesive picture of customer usage and financial value.
Strong Problem solving acumen: A self-starter with a proactive mindset and a high degree of intellectual curiosity
You may also have:
Experience with Big Data Analytics: Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and working with large-scale data systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes).
Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with on-premise software architecture, server nodes, clusters, or containerization (Kubernetes) is highly preferred
B2B Context: Experience working in enterprise software (B2B), particularly in pricing, renewals, or license compliance functions.
