Title: Product Copywriter, Brand Studio

Job Overview:

Our global creative studio team is seeking a Product Copywriter to join our dynamic group. This copywriter will be tasked with writing clear and concise copy that meets the goals of each marketing tactic, whether it be product copy, headlines for in-store marketing, long-form brochures, SEO-optimized site articles, and more. In this role, you’ll work closely with the product and marketing teams to develop compelling, end-user-focused copy that connects brands with audiences. You will be responsible for reflecting and maintaining the tone and voice of our diverse portfolio of brands, including DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, STANLEY, BLACK+DECKER, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Hustler, and others. This role reports to our Senior Manager of Copy.

Your words will help inform, inspire, and persuade customers, driving product awareness and conversion. The right candidate will be collaborative, able to implement feedback, and a curious problem solver driven to achieve the best possible results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive benefit-led product copy for our website, catalogs, merchandising, ecommerce and other sales channels that drive conversion.

  • Collaborate with product managers, brand strategists, and marketing teams to understand product features, benefits, and target audiences.

  • Create engaging content for other touchpoints including email, website pages, and digital ads related to product launches and promotions.

  • Ensure all product copy aligns with brand voice, style guidelines, and SEO best practices.

  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.

  • Conduct research on industry trends, tools, competitors, and customer needs to inform copywriting strategies.

  • Propose enhancements to content itself and make suggestions to increase effectiveness.

  • Update and maintain product copy based on feedback, new features, or changes.

  • Participate in brainstorms and other collaborative ideation exercises with the broader in-house creative studio.

  • Stay up to date with trends in AI writing to inform work and development processes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proofreading ability and attention to detail.

  • 360° thinker with consumer touchpoint/journey awareness—full marketing funnel understanding.

  • Ability to rationalize copy decisions.

  • Exceptional time management with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Team player with the ability to communicate effectively, manage expectations, incorporate feedback, and problem-solve when needed.

Education and Technical Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in English, writing, journalism, communications, or a similar field.

  • 3+ years’ work experience with an in-house marketing team or advertising agency.

  • Portfolio with relevant work experience and examples required.

Bonus:

  • Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems.

  • Interest in construction goods and equipment is a plus.

  • Experience working with large-scale brands.

  • Experience managing and tracking tasks in Workfront is a plus.
