Procurement Strategy and Operations Manager

Remote Full time

Job Overview:

The Procurement Strategy & Operations Manager is the architect of Cambium’s sourcing ecosystem. You will serve as the Product Owner for our procurement platform (Zip) and the Service Owner for our enterprise-wide sourcing model. This is a strategic execution role designed for a systems-thinker who can translate operational data into business insights and transform procurement from a "back-office function" into a high-value strategic partner.

Top 3 Outcomes (First 6 Months)

Roadmap Delivery: Launch the SMART (Software and Services Management, Acquisition and Resource Tracking) service model roadmap.

Process Optimization: Execute two high-impact workflow improvements in Zip that measurably reduce cycle times or improve compliance.

Visibility: Deploy executive-level dashboards tracking sourcing throughput, spend influence, and operational KPIs.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Platform Ownership & Systems Strategy (Zip)

  • Drive the end-to-end roadmap for the Zip intake-to-procure platform, managing vendor relationships and system health.
  • Design and deploy custom workflows, system configurations, and technical enhancements in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and InfoSec.
  • Manage technical documentation, UAT, and change management for all system rollouts.

2. Service Design & Operational Excellence

  • Define the sourcing operating model (intake flows, SLAs, and escalation paths) to ensure a frictionless stakeholder experience.
  • Standardize the "Sourcing Playbook," creating user guides and process maps that clarify the "how-to" for the entire enterprise.
  • Act as a change agent, proactively engaging business units to drive early procurement involvement in the project lifecycle.

3. Data Insights & Performance Management

  • Engineered automated reporting to monitor bottlenecks, renewal risks, and compliance gaps.
  • Convert raw procurement data into actionable category planning and vendor strategy insights.
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining rigorous documentation of policies, SOPs, and approval matrices.

4. Cross-Functional Project Leadership

  • Drive enterprise initiatives (e.g., AI procurement frameworks or vendor risk programs).
  • Facilitate alignment between divergent stakeholders (Legal vs. IT vs. Finance) to reach consensus on procurement goals.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 6+ years in Procurement Ops, Sourcing, or Business Ops.
  • Technical Mastery: Direct experience as an admin/owner of procurement tech (e.g., Zip, Coupa, Ariba).
  • Process Mindset: Proven ability to build "lean" processes that don't sacrifice compliance for speed.
  • Communication: Ability to distill complex system workflows into simple, executive-level narratives.
  • Analytical Skills: High proficiency in Excel/BI tools to track and report on departmental ROI.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or Private Equity-backed environments.
  • Experience in a technical role, or in a strategic sourcing/procurement role within a technical environment
  • Certifications: CSPO, PMP, or CPSM.
