Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations.
This position is based at ODFW’s headquarters in Salem, Oregon, and has the potential for hybrid (in-office and remote) work. This is not a fully remote position.
What you will do:
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of projects and challenges. This position includes problem-solving, working with details, and supporting teams through complex procurement processes. As a Procurement & Contract Specialist 2 in Salem, Oregon, you will play a key role in managing contracts from start to finish. This includes developing solicitations, negotiating terms, and overseeing agreements throughout their lifecycle. In addition, you will serve as primary administrator for Contract Services’ cloud-based workflow and collaboration software tools, as well as handle fleet coordination duties. Duties include:
Acquisition of goods and services, including public improvement and information technology
Contract solicitation and negotiation
Grant, federal contract and federal cooperative process
Travel occasionally, sometimes to remote locations, and sometimes overnight for 1-2 nights for pre-bid meetings (often for public improvement projects) and other events in Oregon.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet one of the following options:
Option 1: Four years procurement and contract experience related to the position. Two of the four years must have been at the professional-level such as developing and administering standard contracts, agreements, or solicitations
Option 2: A bachelor’s degree and one year of professional-level procurement and contract experience related to the position
Option 3: Any combination of experience and education equivalent to four years of procurement and contract experience related to the position.

Knowledge of pertinent state and federal law/regulations, state contracting rules and principles typical to a public jurisdiction, agency policies, and business management principles.

Ability to manage and prioritize one’s time to efficiently complete tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience with public speaking and the ability to communicate and uphold guidelines professionally in a public setting.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%
