Impact In This Role

A Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing organizational spending and ensuring the timely availability of goods and services. By developing effective sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts, the role delivers cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance. The Procurement Specialist mitigates supply and vendor risks through careful evaluation and relationship management, supports smooth business operations by preventing supply disruptions, and improves transparency through data-driven decision-making. Through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and adherence to procurement policies, the role adds strategic value, enhances operational efficiency, and contributes directly to the organization’s overall performance and sustainability.

What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for COTS items, fasteners, paints, and raw materials.
  • Apply strong negotiation skills to achieve cost savings and meet internal target prices.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including RFQs, cost analysis, negotiations, order placement, and delivery tracking.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners, project teams, and quality teams to ensure material specifications and standards are met.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring vendor performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels on a daily basis and coordinate with project teams to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to understand technical requirements and ensure accurate sourcing.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align procurement with machining, fabrication, Wire Harness and production requirements.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.
  • Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation for audits and traceability.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline; MBA is an added advantage
  • 3–4 years of experience in procurement preferably Aerospace 
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes, materials, and services procurement 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities, with strong attention to details
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in vendor identification, evaluation, and development
  • Good technical knowledge of products/commodities and manufacturing processes
  • Strong exposure to supplier ecosystems and supply base development
  • Capable of ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Experience managing NDAs, supplier agreements, purchase orders, and service contracts to support procurement objectives
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work across different time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, take initiative, manage time effectively, and work efficiently with minimal supervision, driving tasks and projects from initiation to completion
