Bucknell University is seeking motivated candidates to join our team as a Buyer. In this position, you will play a key role on our Procurement Services team. Responsibilities will include: collaborating on cooperative contracts, actively participating in negotiations and procurement processes, conducting spend analysis, managing credit card procedures, and maintaining strong supplier communications. You will also support travel-related initiatives to help optimize efficiency and value across the organization. What You Will Do

  • Consults with internal and external partners to procure goods and services while ensuring best value and compliance.  Serves as the primary lead for managing key supplier relationships throughout the procure-to-pay process.  Performs direct supplier negotiation and set up with punchout suppliers and non-catalog suppliers. 

  • Analyzes University utilization and consumption patterns to identify opportunities to consolidate spend and leverage buying power.  Administers contracts through Bucknell’s membership with cooperative contract partners, negotiating the most favorable terms including pricing, payment and delivery.

  • Maintains compliance and creation of job aids and campus collaboration.  Provide change management and guidance to internal partners.  Leads the campus procurement group in areas of academics, athletics, information technology and facilities.

  • Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience related to Workday requisitions, approvals, and issuance of purchase orders. Reviews and approves day-to-day procurement transactions.  Provides guidance, technical assistance and training to campus.

  • Acts as the lead on the University Credit Card Program through regular tasks and duties assigned.  May be required to handle emergency calls outside of normal working hours.

  • Collaborates with travel partners to support University travel initiatives.  Provides guidance of the Travel Policy and promotes well-informed and efficient travelers.

  • Collaborates on the University Property Disposal processes, and sale of unused goods.

What You Will Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.

  • 2 years buyer experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field

  • 5 or more years of buyer experience

Physical Requirements

  • Requires frequent sitting, talking, hearing and listening

Salary Range:

49,200.00-61,500.00

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. 

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
