As a Sr Procurement/Sourcing Specialist, the Marketing Procurement Partner contributes to the development of multi-year strategies and business plans for marketing teams across all groups and divisions.
In this role, you will drive the execution of the Procurement vision with key colleagues in the business units. As a key partner to the divisional marketers, you will focus on execution and strategy implementation. This important position will optimize quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. You will mitigate risk, use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition. By leveraging expertise to develop and execute effective sourcing solutions while building strong supplier relationships, you will advance our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Scale of Responsibilities
- Implement and support short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies and procedures for the marketing teams
- Translate marketing objectives and targets to Category management teams and monitor category management contributions to these targets
- Deliver on key marketing objectives for service delivery, quality, cost, innovation, and growth commitments
- Coordinate long-range strategies with business partners and implement plans
- Partner with Category Managers, marketing teams, and finance leaders to deliver annual value improvements and drive competitive advantage
- Coordinate related business projects (e.g., M&A integration)
- Provide input for decision-making on production methods, supplier selection, and supplier management for marketing projects and supplier transitions; support the monitoring of execution and communicate results to Category management and business stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with business colleagues across all Groups and Divisions on marketing projects
- Serve as the point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier Management
Technical Responsibilities
- Collect supplier (technical) capability requirements for current and future engagement as input for supplier scouting
- Gather business requirements for various marketing projects
- Drive and track compliance for marketing projects
- Monitor project pipeline to support preparedness efforts across internal and supplier landscape
- Serve as point of contact for Procurement across marketing teams
- Consolidate, analyze, and report on marketing procurement metrics for business reviews
Leadership Responsibilities
- Align the Procurement strategy with the marketing teams
- Ensure procurement value contribution to business and support marketing initiatives
- Manage input to category strategies (across all groups and divisions)
- Engage with supplier leadership to support the CM team and marketing teams in achieving Thermo Fisher objectives related to quality, cost, innovation, growth and compliance
- Support the development and implementation of common processes, standardized work, use of tools and technologies
Requirements
- Substantial experience in procurement/sourcing management, typically 8+ years; experience in multinational organizations is valued
- Strong command of English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset
- Ability to travel 10-15% as required by the role
- Demonstrated experience in managing marketing services provided by third parties
- Progressive career growth in marketing and/or procurement, including experience in diverse international settings
- Proficiency in core procurement skills (e.g., negotiating, contracting, statement of work development, strategic sourcing)
- Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management tools like Adobe Workfront is beneficial
